Thread Starter
Hi Guys,
I have Viewsonic 22" WD LCD with 1680 x 1050 resolution. Is it worth to have SLI for this monitor. Can I see any difference if i setup SLI??? I will probably be setting up SLI with G80 cards in future if you guys suggest this monitor is good enough to show difference in quality of gaming???

Thanks

well first what do you have now? If you can run games fine at 1600 x 1200 then you can run them at 1680 x 1050 fine. Its basically the same thing. But first tell us what you have then we can go from there

Your fine, you should be able to run any of the current games, maxed out at that res. I am running them maxed out at that res with my Sig Rig. So im sure you can do alot better then me. And Im getting like 65 fps in fear, 55 in oblivion 100 in css, I wouldn't bother with getting SLI right now with your current card. Wait till the prices drop for g80's then get it. Also I like to wait for a couple months after a card comes out for them to work out all the bugs and what not.

Like you said I will wait until the prices drop for G80 and with all other issues resolved than I will think of going to SLI.

Oblivion is a demanding game though. I do think a single 8800GTX would be fine for now (until games become more demanding again).

Just a note: I can't run Oblivion at max settings @1600x1200, but that's because I am running AA and HDR combined, and that puts a heavy load on my cards.
