Fresh comp for overclock

Thread Starter
hello all.

ive recently purchased the best computer my wallet could buy. you can look in my user CP for more info but for now just know that i have

C2D E6600
EVGA 7950 GX2
Dominator 2x1gb ddr2 mem
good 9500 zalman fan cooling CPU
EVGA 680I motherboard

i would like to commence overclocking this fine peice of equipment to a safe level where no parts will be damaged but they will all be performing at peak performance

currently, my cpu runs at about 36 degrees when playing oblivion, and about 32 when sitting at windows desktop. is this a good start temp?

i dont know how to get the temp of my video card and ram, but im sure you are about to tell me

what tests should i run to make sure im set to overclock? is there a place where somone has already overclocked this particular setup? any help would be usefull

thanks for any help you may offer

Idle temps don't matter, load temps do

Run this for 10 minutes to see what your GPU load temps are

http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/rthdribl/

This for your CPU

I don't think there is anyway to see what your RAM temps are so you can skip that

With the E6600 and 680i, I say you're good for at least 3.1ghz

How recently did you get that GPU and how much did you pay for it?
