30" IPS and 23" 120hz

Thread Starter
1) how should I position them? right now i have this

(looking at it from my chair)

speaker 30" 23" (side by side) speaker

I play CS:GO on my 23" a lot, but I also watch videos on my 30" a lot.

I have to sit at an angle to play CS:GO, but it's kinda ok cuz I use headphones.

is there any better way of positioning i should consider, or is this the most efficient already?

2) is there any program better than ultramon? whenever i play cs, i have to make the 23" my main monitor, then switch back if I want to use the 30" for anotehr full screen program. the time i takes to switch main monitors is quite annoying... and i hae to resize all the windows.

thanks guys!

I agree with AlaskaFox. I would put the 120Hz monitor below and the 30" on top. You can lean back and prop your feet up while watching those movies. wink.gif

dang, my reply didnt show up. i use the 30" for gw2 and other graphics intensive games, so i dont think it'll work. thanks for the suggestions

30" is too tall after it's situated on top of 23"

If it were my situation i would have it the other way around, i draw digitaly and i would have my art monitor (30") right infront of me and my gaming monitor up top, i like to recline when i game, especialy fps. Even now i have my monitor ontop of my sub to raise it an extra 10 inches or so.

OP, it may help if you had a picture of your current desk setup? Sounds like we wont be able to help you out with that much.

You should think about getting an ergotron dual lx arm, I know it says they are limited to 24" but you probably just wouldn't be able to use the full range of motion like stacking, but for putting one dead center and one to the side I think it would work.

ex: 23" centered and 30" angled when on CS, and 30" centered and 23" angled to the side when on GW2

I'm in the same predicament, except with a 27" 1440p and a 23" 120hz, constantly switching monitors to your main is very, very annoying

then i'd have to move it all the time? interesting solution, but it seems quite annoying to have to move it

i can't play cs and look up, it'd be too far. i like to lean in close so i can see what im shooting at more clearly.

thanks for the replies though guys. giving the stack a try tonight (23 in front, 30 on top, tilted down.)

The 30" is mounted on the wall.

I used Ergotron NEO-FLEX Wall Mount.

Sorry for the bad quality.

You do not move the stand, the middle pole stays in one place you just move the arms to your preference
