PLZ REVIEW MY BUDGET BUILD

Thread Starter
heyy guys i have finalized my budget build that am mostly going to use for gaming, web and basic media. plz review my build and give any helpful tips and input for something i should change or improve .. am gonna order the parts tomorrow ..thanks

INTEL PENTIUM G630 2.7GHZ DUAL CORE SANDY BRIDGE CPU
GIGABYTE H61M-DS2 MOBO
KINGSTON 1*4GB DDR3 1333MHZ RAM
COOLER MASTER CM350 PLUS PSU 350WATTS (70% EFFICIENCY)

i have yet to decide which graphics card to get.. am on a tight budget so i am considering either of the following:
SAPPHIRE HD5670 1GB DDR3
SAPPHIRE HD6670 1GB DDR3
GALAXY or ZOTAC GT630 1GB DDR3(basically a rebranded GT440)
iball case(local brand)
which one should i get ..my monitor is 1440*900 but am fine with playing on 1280*720. i want to play all latest games like skyrim, resident evil 6, assassins creed 3, witcher 2 and pretty much everything.
also i want to ask in case of ram is it better to go for 1*4gb single channel or 2*2gb dual channel ?
also is psu ok ? its the only one in my budget and i suspect its not very good quality. also hows the cpu ? will it last me 3 years..? i know its not overclockable so is 2.7ghz enough for all latest and future games ? i wont be upgrading for another 3 yrs after this build..so i want it to last.
any help will be much appreciated ...its my first build so i need your helpful advice..

if you can squeeze in 5770, 6770 into the budget, at 720p resolution the xx70 lineup will provide better gaming fps. but you have to upgrade your psu to somewhat like a corsair CX 430W 80+ true rated with dedicated pcie gpu power cable.

for ram since H61 mobos are two slot limited better get 4GB ram single module stick instead for upgrade later

G630+H61+1333 ram are fine partners.

i did change my graphics card from listed in my conf to a sapphire radeon hd7750..everything else is the same except ram.changed from 4gb to 8gb

Are you buying from newegg? I have that board and hate it..SATA port popped off the 1st day I got it.
I'd recommend the Biostar H61MGC over that one, much better build quality..wish I would have kept mine frown.gif
eh..but I had a friend who wanted a better rig for cheap..so I sold him my backup biggrin.gif
Guarantee it's better than those e8400s he was looking at..He's a happy camper.
Umm..What's your total budget? biggrin.gif

Combo deal suggestions like this are total ripoffs. The balance is often poor and you can just about always configure something better for the same or less price.

Observe this configuration that actually manages to retain the case (not that I'd recommend it at such a low budget)
RAIDMAX Helios case - $55.25 shipped with promo, $45.25 AR
DVD burner - $16 shipped after promo
Antec Neo ECO 450C - $37 shipped [NCIX]
WD Caviar Blue 1TB HDD (2 year warranty) - $75 shipped [NCIX]
ECS H61H2-M12 + Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB DDR3-1333 memory - $63 shipped, $53 AR
Intel Pentium G850 - $65 shipped [NCIX]

Supercombo cost - $304 + $11.68 shipping = $315.68 shipped
Alternate config cost - $311.25 shipped

$5 savings while maintaining a better CPU (G850 vs G630), better PSU (quality and warranty), and better HDD (longer warranty). NEVER buy supercombos.

OP, all this "never buy supercombo" talk aside, I would have liked to recommend that you take on Socket FM2 platform with AMD Trinity APU. FM2 is far more future proof than 1155 and in your situation would provide for a far more balanced and multitasking-oriented computing experience. Given the Trinity iGPU parallels a 6670 with opportunity for hybrid crossfire to increase performance and parallel a 7770 or better with low profile, while the whole APU can consume less power, for your tasks it may have proved an option far superior to low end 1155.

also if the mobo does go bad its covered by a 3 yr warranty .. my total budget is $400 but now i have ordered all the components and it will be delivered today..so cant change my conf. now ..i think its a decent build for 1440*900 res ..
