Case in point: I use OS X in my university Computer Science lab, OS X on my laptop, and a number of Mac applications that only have iOS counterparts, and that is only one example of why I rely on the level of integration that only a matching desktop and mobile OS provide. As someone who values effortless synchronization above pretty much everything else, including hardware specs, iOS is a far better OS for me than Android, thus the S3 (or any phone that doesn't fit into the Apple software ecosystem) would be an inferior phone for my uses as it requires more work on my part, or requires I change to alternate software.
Hardware wise, I don't disagree, but hardware is only a small part of a larger picture.
