[BuildLog] Trinity: Power and Elegance

Major Edit. As I thought about the build and what I am wanting to do with it, I pegged a good name. Trinity, fitting as it's 3 systems in 1, using a Trinity apu for the pc. So as I said before, the direction of this build is subject to change. The direction it will go forward from is (throwback) semi Matrix. Brushed black aluminum, glossy black acrylic, and I think I plan on a green underglow during different particular uses, most likely xbox/ps3 use. Being as its a media center also, if my wife uses it and it glows, a storm will ensue. Stay tuned, will have pics coming in the near future of the progression. I would like to apologize in advance, being as this will be a long build.

so the plan is an xbox 360, PS3, an amd (Trinity) FM2 pc, and a gigabit switch, all watercooled. Planned materials include black and clear acrylic, and brushed aluminum anodized black.

I'll be using this section here to put out idea's before they actually happen, largely for feedback and also to get some of yall interested:)

Here is a 3d model i did to show my idea. its rough. its my first time, so performance was not to be expected the rear is just there to give something other than blank to look at. it will be a custom i/o structure. ps3 and pc will be hdmi, xbox will be the standard xbox out for component. so the rear which you will need to imagin will have: 2 HDMI, 1 Ethernet, 1Xbox360 Multi A/V plug, 1 optical SP/DF, 1 3 Pin power connector, 1 Power supply toggle switch, 4 USB 2.0, 2 USB 3.0.

Front will have a modified to match xbox 360 power button with led's bottom front center, both ps3 touch sensor power/eject buttons directly above with hdd/power led, lower right will have pc power and reset buttons. between pc power and xbox power will be 6 USB 2.0 plugs, 2 exposed (PC) and 4 behind a fold down door (2 ps3, 2 xbox 360). Behind the door will also be the xbox 360 controller sync button and "possibly" the eject button. depends on how clean i can make it on the outside.

The drives will all be on the left side. The Xbox drive will be the lower left corner, directly above that is the PS3 slot load drive, and directly above that a pc slot load drive. and as before, if the eject button for the pc disc drive can't be done in an elegant manner, it will be behind the door.

my background in terms of what i do: I am a cable tech by day, and my second job i am the lead repair tech at NintendoRepairShop.com, so i solder and reroute circuits all day (10 year olds can really put electronics to the test). so any of the relocating of inputs and outputs and the like is not that daunting. my main concern is how good i do the acrylic work and the overall metal work since i don't have a shop

i will be cutting the case this weekend if all goes as planned at my friends house who has the dremel and such.
