Few more hints :
1) One piece of the hardware is coming from Singapore, was only released 2 days ago and will probably be one of the only ones in AU for the next few weeks.(until the product becomes mainstream).
2) Second piece of hardware is coming from 3M and is a very specialized piece of equipment that is not available in AU. I had to pay U.S export fee's for this and provide a signed customs export declaration to have this shipped here.
3) Third piece of hardware is coming from the US and is not available to buy in AU. Again I had to pay U.S export fee's for this and provide a signed customs export declaration to have this shipped here.
Item 1 was shipped via SG Speedpost and should be here by weeks end.
Item 2 was shipped and I'm expecting it early next week via FedEx from 3M
Item 3 is still 'processing' by the manufacturer but should ship shortly, again via FedEx so should be here early next week.

You really weren't kidding when you called this Project "Overkill" drool.gif
Oh, the things I would do to get a rig like yours...

Thanks guys,

So I more of less have the things I need now to fix up the few problems I have.

This is the collection of parts I have acquired over the new year break.

First but not least, a 1350 watt Enermax Maxrevo. I couldn't find a supplier with a 1350 platimax, so I got this instead.

This will power 2 of the GPU's and one of the 8 Pin EPS/12v cables. I figured a 1000watt might not cover the cards when overclocked, so I decided to go bigger.

So if we go back to the photo I showed earlier in the thread, I've circled the area's that need work.

The green circle is where the tubing has sagged so is almost touching the GPU loop. I need to replace the swiftech 90 degree with a firmer fitting from bitspower and shorten the tubing so that it doesn't sag.

The orange circles are two things that need addressing.

The 90 degree fitting is sagging so much its placing strain on the pci-express cables (when plugged in), which is causing the gpu's to place additional strain on the motherboard, something that just cant happen over a long period. I need to replace the 90degree here and will probably go with 2 x 50mm extenders instead of a 40mm and a 50mm to give it some more distance. This will ensure it cant place strain on the pci-ex cables, gpu's and motherboard.

Near the 2nd orange circle there is a fitting as part of the snake that also needs to be replaced with something firmer that can support the quick release weight, I have some bitspower fittings to replace this also.

Here are pictures of the stuff I received so far.

1) New VL4N-M/F13 quick releases to enable me to easily remove the GPU rad.
2) 200mm (20cm) zip ties to replace the ugly black ones. These were hard to get and came all the way from the UK.
3) New roll of sleeving and heatshrink that will be used to replace all the yellow/orange/red cables in the 24 pin and to shorten it as required
4) Two PWM fan's for the motherboard and PSU exhausts as the board doesn't seem to like limiting fan speeds via 3 pin.
5) Bitspower 90 degree fittings to replace the lackluster swiftech fittings and prevent sagging.
6) I also have some sata leads that are not pictured yet (will picture once sleeved)

For the other things that are coming:

Item 1 - Is in AUS and expected tomorrow.
Item 2 - Is in Hawaii and is expected Friday.
Item 3 - still waiting for them to process the export documentation frown.gif

Thanks Man,

Well item one has arrived, Creatives new 124snr flagship sound card(s) the Sound Blaster ZxR,

As mentioned earlier in the thread this item was literally just released.

I've tried to take photos with a Mix of Artificial and natural light, unfortunately its that time of the morning where neither work very well. Tonight I'll take off the sound card covers and take more shots under better light.

PS. Item 2 is on schedule to be delivered today and will be included in tonight's update.

I was under the impression that the new z series does not replace the titanium hd x-fi. (Small article on it on head-fi)

That might be a reference to the base models (the Z and Zx) which are just the standard soudcore3d dsp and dac chip and some capacitors and very little else on the board. The Z and Zx can only deliver 116snr and have no replaceable o-amps or on board headphone amplifier. They also suffer from software based encoding and other sucky things like that.

If you compare the ZxR and the Titanium HD X-fi they are neck and neck in terms of specifications,

Both feature the ability to upgrade O-amps (which I'll show later tonight when I open them up).

If you look at creatives website it even references the ZxR as their flagship card.

I don't know enough about headphones (33,330,600ohms mean nothing much to me) to comment further smile.gif
