This is very important for gaming on 3 monitors because if one monitor is higher than another it ruins the immersion.

Awesome! I have those same 3 monitors, love those bad boys! Are you going to try to mod them in any way to decrease side bezels or are you going to leave them stock. I have my bezels overlapped and on wall mounts, but would love to get rid of some bezels. Big problem is 3d vision sensor built into top bezel.

I've been considering selling mine due to the IR receiver that's built in. I had to RMA two of them as the sensor made a buzzing noise whenever 3d was on. It would be nice to mod them, but I'd probably just break them smile.gif If you do every decide to mod them I'd love to see it!

ASUS released these last week (at least in AU) without the IR receiver VG278HE. I haven't really read any reviews yet but ASUS claims they can do 144hz (TN Panel). I'm not sure if its worth selling and swapping over to them or waiting for IPS 3d panels late next year.

So this is what I'll be working on next, the GPU rad.

Copper Cores, Aluminum Fins. There will be 18 fans in a push/pull . Biggest problem I think I'm going to have is cabling the center fan. But I'll figure out a way around that.

So far I've performed the usual hot/cold water distilled rinses by hand. Personally I don't agree with using a vinegar rinse on rads but each to their own. As a final step I like to use some filtering (Koolance INS-FLTR03 with a 0.27mm/sq filter) and a tiny loop like this:

You could use a pump/filter/tubing from any aquarium shop and do the same thing, but this allows me to test the pumps out as well.

I like to leave this running for about 3-4hrs before cleaning the filter, then running it again. I start with hot then cold distilled, just make sure you don't exceed the max temp of the tubes or the temperature of your pumps when using hot distilled water.

When this one has run through its filtering I'll show you just what is left in the filters.

Ya I havent seen anyone mod them yet and I dont want to be the first one and break them either, lol. The difference between the vg278h 120hz & vg278he 144hz is going to be minimal. Quote from Vega:

Just for a point of reference, let's say I feel a jump from 60 Hz to 120 Hz produces about a 50% increase in the images "smoothness". Of course the faster the image is displayed, the % of return in smoothness feel will decrease exponentially. While an increase from 120 Hz to 144 Hz is a mathematical 20% speed increase, I would put my subjective increase in smoothness feel around 5 to 8%.
The jump to IPS 3d 2560x1440 displays is going to be huge! But also 7860x1440 120hz or 3d @60hz is going to have to wait until next gen cards anyways, so take that in mind.

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out smile.gif

So this is the gunk that came out of a radiator after I had flushed it good 5-6 times with distilled water over a period of 48 hours, then ran it through a loop with dual filters.

Definitely don't want this in your loop.

Thanks for the PM's with some suggestions.

Based on the requests image sizes are now bigger - instead of being 25% of 12.1MP they are now 50%.

I've also made a conscious effort to spend a bit more time getting the light right and more detailed shots.

Also based on some constructive feedback I've begun removing the heat shrink on the PSU cables and I'm hoping to complete them over the next week or two, should look much better. Cables that cannot be crimped in this fashion will still have heat shrink (like the wires that connect directly into the 120mm fans for example)

At the moment I have begun working on the fans for the 1080mm radiator, Progress is slow as I'm working 12hr days at work. The fans use 35mm M3 black screws and 3mm anti-vibration gaskets. Goal is to single wire sleeve and solder all 18 fans in the same way as the front panel.

Work continues at a slowwww pace due to work commitments.

25 feet of Durelene tubing has shipped from http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/dupvctu1idx3.html and will be in AU by weeks end.

Mayhem dyes have shipped from www.ple.com.au and will be here by weeks end.

I've also ordered 500 x Genuine Molex ATX (Mini-Fit Jr. Series) Female Pins (39-00-0038) for the PSU cabling without heat shrink.

This is looking to be an extremely good build, I hate that work is causing you to work at a slow pace though, so eager to see this finish! biggrin.gif
I must ask though, from what I've seen, you have quite a number of fans running, how do you plan on powering them all? Multiple fan controllers or something?

Thanks for your kind words, I wish I had more time to finish it also, there are so many new release games I have that I want to play on this system smile.gif

I am using a single fan controller, I have two at the moment, still deciding which to use, each fan controller has the capability to run 30watts per channel.

Lamptron FC8 , 8 x 30w Channels

Lamptron Touch , 6 x 30w Channels

You can pick up either from here in AU for $55-65AUD.

The particular store I linked above sells genuine Lamptron controllers in AU, there are many counterfeits out there that just won't do the 30watts, so be careful where you buy from.

Each fan uses 0.22a which is close to 3watt's, meaning in theory you could run 10 fans per channel. At the moment I am planning to run 6 per fans per channel which will give plenty of room per channel and reduce heat/strain on the controllers capacitors / mosfets.

EDIT : Mayhem's items arrived

First 9 are more or less complete, waiting on case panel before I solder and add the wires to the fan controller.

Will start work on cabling the other side tomorrow .
