Yes, hardware brute force is not enough. A more elegant, efficient and collaborative architecture that combines software optimization with hardware design to bring about performance increases we've only dreamed about up till now.

For a quick and crude example think Concoles. The hardware in concoles are weak compared to PC's, yet because they are designed in a very optimized ecosystem, the software can fully take advantage of the power of the hardware. We have very unoptimized code right now, most programs don't make use of the up to 8 threads current desktop CPU's offer even, so the hardware isn't really the problem.

Brilliant direction for AMD. They can't really outmanufactor or design Intel R&D vs R&D, but this could easily tip the favour in AMD's hand.

Very exciting stuff. Very happy Qualcomm is on board. My new S3 is the dual core Qualcomm, I like it more now smile.gif
