Not sure what you are asking; are you talking Hz, resolution, etc?

Dvi and hdmi are same but hdmi carries sound, display ports are for multiple monitors.

Me thinks you may be over thinking this.

Yes, I'm not sure I get what the question is either. If your asking about the HDMI Ports, no they do not support 2560 x 1440.

Hello,
resolution seems to be the problem.
Dual link DVI is a guarantied 2560 1440
Hdmi interface can do a lot more than that almost 8 times the data of D-DVI

Problem is that apparently not all monitor's HDMI interfaces feature the high band required for 2K or more resulting in the Graphics card and cable happily delivering 2K res but the monitor interface being incapable of interpreting it.
Is a common problem and has been pointed out in many forums.
Not sure how often but it surely has happened and posted.
Before placing an order for a more expensive ACHIEVA SHIMIAN QH270-IPS-TDP it is important to findf out or I’ll end up only being able to vehicle the 2K image via D-DVI rendering the all exercise of multiple inputs expensively useless.

The q271 claims to support 2560x1440 if you use a 1.4a cable and your GPU supports it (no laptops will over HDMI)

Also I have yet to see an X to HDMI adapter that will support over 1920x1200, so it would have to be straight from desktop GPU's HDMI out.

The graphic drivers/gpu software would take care in pooling the resolution so 3 of same resolution monitors would equal the higher pooled resolution. I've never heard of cables being a problem in this.

Not cables granted! I never mentioned that. But the receiving end interface could be the funnel.

I never spoke about cables, but input HDMI interface limitations.

Sorry, I'm not quite sure I understood your statements entirely.
Are you saying that if any of the multiple monitors is more or less than a certain resolution all other monitors will be feed the same higher or lower definition?

In that case, since I have two Graphic Cards, I would use one solely for the 2K monitor.
Is that what you meant?

Also I have 1 Display port in each G. Card.

How would the use of that affects the GPU?

Same as by our original statement?

I don't really understand what your original question is tongue.gif.

If you're trying to drive multiple monitors, you'll be able to run them all at different resolutions... the resolution would only be limited by what the GPU supports on that output. Some GPU have single link DVI for one of the DVI for example, so you would want to plug a 1080p screen into that one, and not the 2k.

If you want to know how to set up a bunch of monitors, post what they all are and the model of your GPU. I'm sure we could tell you how to connect them to your GPU, and if you're missing anything.
