I'm down for this week or weekend. Just got off school and used my c-bills I've been saving up to finally add a new toy into my mech bay.

Got a lovely Centurion with a AC10, Triple Streak SRM4 and dual small lasers. Fun fire support mech. The AC10 just rips though mechs biggrin.gif

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Greetings MechWarriors,

Come In, Don’t Just Stand There! This patch is easily one of our largest patches ever. We have a mammoth amount of stuff to cover, so let’s dive right in!

ImageProxy.mvc?bicild=&canary=UbXMEnuhh%2fHOF8V3AEVkEBnlnTLmhBgHFN2u41Z5Khs%3d0&url=http%3a%2f%2fgallery.mailchimp.com%2fab08b1e44d32f493373bb01cc%2fimages%2fconquest.jpg

Conquest Mode
Firstly, our newest mode, Conquest, is now in! Conquest Mode puts 5 capturable locations on the map, each of which gives you points over time as you hold them. You can neutralize, and then capture, enemy locations by standing on them. We think this mode will shake up the way people play, as each team will constantly be trying to outflank the other and encourages a much broader use of the map’s playable areas.

ImageProxy.mvc?bicild=&canary=UbXMEnuhh%2fHOF8V3AEVkEBnlnTLmhBgHFN2u41Z5Khs%3d0&url=http%3a%2f%2fgallery.mailchimp.com%2fab08b1e44d32f493373bb01cc%2fimages%2fcadet_bonus_3.jpg
Cadet Bonus
We’ve also added a new reward system! There are quite a few changes here that should be very popular such as trial mechs getting the same C-Bill rewards as normal Mechs (including Mech XP!),and  a new bonus called the ‘Cadet Bonus’ that gives users bonus C-Bills for their first 25 games! After all 25 games have been played, you’ll have received an additional amount of just under eight million C-Bills. And if you’ve already played more than 25 games, you’ll receive it as a lump-sum – happy Holidays!
Game mode rewards have been changed as well. In Assault, a win is worth 25,000, a loss 10,000; however, a kill is now worth 5,000, destroyed components 2,500, assists 7,500, spotting at 2,000, and damage done is 25 times how much damage you did!

For Conquest it is largely the same, though where kills and assists are worth half, but you also gain 25 times however many resources your team collects. This can really add up in longer games!

ImageProxy.mvc?bicild=&canary=UbXMEnuhh%2fHOF8V3AEVkEBnlnTLmhBgHFN2u41Z5Khs%3d0&url=http%3a%2f%2fgallery.mailchimp.com%2fab08b1e44d32f493373bb01cc%2fimages%2fdragons.jpg

Twin Dragons
Then, we have not one, but two Hero Mechs – the Twin Dragons.

Piloted by brothers, these Mechs have very different styles of combat, with one focussing on close range brawling, and the other long range attack.  They can be found side-by-side, ever trying to best the other. Born on New Samarkand and part of a noble family, they attended the Sun Zhang MechWarrior Academy together.  Upon graduation, each was given a Dragon – to Martin, a DRG-1C belonging to his grandmother, and to Donald, a DRG-1N that belonged to their father.

While receiving many distinctions and each rising to the rank of Chu-i (Lieutenant), in charge of their own Lances, the brothers often got into trouble for taking un-necessary risks in order to best each other. After their DCMS company commander, who was furious at them, convinced them to cease these actions, and the brothers focussed on customizing their Mechs in an attempt to outdo the other.

Having now risen to the rank of Sho-sa (Major), each is in charge of their own Company. They work at the Sun Zhang MechWarrior Academy together, pushing their students to see who can produce the better class of MechWarrior pilots.

Piloted by Martin Takeda, the Dragon DRG-FLAME boasts the following load out of a medium laser, AC/2, LRM-5, and an ER Large laser. This Mech is a perfect design for those who love to pick off opponents at long range!

Piloted by Donald Takeda, the Dragon DRG-FANG boasts a load out of two medium lasers, an SRM 6, and an AC/10. Clearly a brawler, this Mech is perfect for those pilots who are all about high armour, speed, and getting into the fight.

I expect to see quite a few of these running around in the coming days!

ImageProxy.mvc?bicild=&canary=UbXMEnuhh%2fHOF8V3AEVkEBnlnTLmhBgHFN2u41Z5Khs%3d0&url=http%3a%2f%2fgallery.mailchimp.com%2fab08b1e44d32f493373bb01cc%2fimages%2fstalker_3.jpg

Stalker
Next, we have our newest Mech addition, the Stalker! No, I won’t get out of here, it’s true! Weighing in at 85 tons, and with a terrifying primary variant, we think this particular Assault Mech will quickly find itself a very, very popular spot in our Mech lineup.

It will come with the following variants:

Who doesn’t want a giant Mech will bull-hooves for feet and more missile and energy slots than you can shake a stick at?

Holiday Cockpit Items Part 2
Added to that, we have a whole bunch of New Year’s Eve items, the list of which follows:
  • 3050 Balloons – for that extra cheer!
  • 3050 Banner – To constantly remind you!
  • Ice Bucket – For chilling specific beverages
  • Classy Mech – featuring a certain Mech you may recognize.
  • Holo Year  – Happy New Years!
  • Champagne – to remind you of what’s back at home.
  • Hat – to add some class to your cockpit.
I have a feel that the Classy Mech bobblehead will be a little popular. Maybe just a bit ;)

Various Updates

For weapons, we increased the projectile speed of all ballistic weapons (except the gauss and AC/2), meaning that your rounds will land on target a lot sooner. The PPC/ER PPC were increased as well, to match the AC/2 (2000 m/s – that’s FAST!) This should really keep your enemies on their toes! We’ve also increased NARC lifespan to 20 seconds, and TAG range to 750m.

We made a number of performance fixes across the board, and everyone should notice an improvement – including making Low and Medium graphics settings less demanding. In addition to this, there were many bug fixes made that should make everyone’s life a little easier, including a fix for 7.1 surround sound, many crashes, and many collision bugs! There’s a lot more, which you can all see in the full patch notes.

We hope you all find something here to love, and we’ll see you on the battlefield!

Cheers,
Garth

Another awesome UPDATE!

Used the One day premium from PennyArcade, had 18mill C-bills after today's bonus and what I been saving up.

Bought a Cataphract CTF-3D. Rocking Dual Medium Pulse, dual Ultra AC5 with 150 rounds and max a upgraded armor. Great piece of kit that just tears people new ones.
Conquest mode is quite fun. Little annoying to run though just Frozen City.

If anyone is down to play i run as ivr56 on MWO, Steam and usually on the No Guts No Galaxy team speak.

Anyone want to play sometime this weekend? Haven't had time to play it in months and now have a week off. A great deal of things have changed since I last played the game and would love to get some time in.
