The GIGABYTE Z77X-UP7 Preview: The OC board and the UD9 meet. - Page 9

post #81 of 242
so heres a little story for you guys. i absolutely love this board.

my graphics cards had issues. had to rma 3, stopped running tri sli. so i take the cards out and put my single working 580 hydro in. got everything going. turned the system on and i fotgot one of the plugs on the cards block up top. shot fluid all over the ram dimms, the cpu socket and all. was heart broken.

took the board outside. blew all of the fluid off (ice dragon nano) the board, put it in the dinning room and let ti sit for a week. figured it was done.

turned around and ordered a z77 FTW evga board. tried that turned out to be defective. got real pissed and figured to hell with it. let me put the gigabyte board back in and see if it works. or else im out $400. got the board hooked up, so i hooked it all up. one card. all 16gb of my ram. THE BOARD FIRED RIGHT BACK UP AND IT PERFECT!!!! runnign 4.6ghz stable on my chip, ram at proper speeds, card clocks great.

this is one SOLID motherboard. im forever hooked on this thing. my evga board pretty much told me i had a dead component and evga tried to tell me that. guess what evga. your board are junk!!

Hey Guys,

Well I just finished building my new RIG.
Il post the sysspecs below but first I want to talk about the building experience.

All in all it was a flawless build, everything went very easy and I am really excited about the cosmos 2 case. BUT! I did encounter one dissapointing thing even for such a HUGE ASS case as the Cosmos 2 and that I cant do a full push pull Corsair H100 configuration.
I checked out pictures of other people doing the same thing and found out that it has to do with the mobo size. The Z77X-UP7 is a EATX
motherboard and thus is a tad longer then other motherboards. This length comes to play at the top of the motherboard near the top of
the case. Sooo because its a little closer to the top one of the H100 Fans wont fit between the motherboards cooling block and the top of the case. I have tried everything but it just cant be done frown.gif I am sooo dissapointed!! What can be done is the mounting of 1 fan at the bottom and two fans at the top. Soo one fan does the pushing and the two on top the pulling. I hope this makes some kind of difference between no push fan at all.

Has anyone else encountered this problem with the Gigabyte Z77X-UP7 and the Cosmos 2 and the Corsair H100 Push pull??

Well here are some pics which shows you the config and the problem with the H100 Push Pull with the Cosmos 2 and the Corsair H100 cooler.

And here are the sysspecs.

PSU = Corsair AX1200i
Motherboard = Gygabite Z77X-UP7
Processor = Intel I7 3770K
CPU Cooler = Corsair H100 with Noctua NF-F12 fans (cant do a full push pull config because the mobo is EATX so its just a tad to large.

1x Corsair Performance pro 128GB SSD Drive. (SATA III)
OS = Windows 7 Enterprise 64 Bits (fresh install) and all recent patches and updates from windows update

Z77X-UP7: E-ATX Form Factor; 30.5cm x 26.4cm
Z77X-UD3H: ATX Form Factor; 30.5cm x 24.4cm

EATX is wider, not taller. ATX-XL is taller and wider.

Looks like a nice build, but yea figuring out where to put that rad might be an issue.
