You don't seem to understand. People are bashing the colors not because their monitors are bad, but that's pretty funny that people seem to think so. Regardless of the monitor you have, the blue filter is still there.

Regardless of what monitor you're on, removing that blue filter changes the way the game looks. People prefer the way the game looks WITHOUT this blue filter. It's like motion blur, some people LIKE motion blur, and some people prefer it off.

Nothing to do with their monitor though...Also IPS monitors are generally terrible for gaming due to the higher input lag, then again I'm sure most of you don't even notice it.

Filters do not get removed, because you have a "good monitor" lol.

Since most of the people here have absolutely no idea what this blue filter is.
Check this:

If you seriously think the near grayscale blue tint looks better something is seriously wrong with you.

No one said it was removed, they said it doesn't make a big impact, and it doesn't, on a good monitor. The blue filter is a slight tint, and looks very close to the image without it from the videos I have seen of it "removed". My monitor has no input lag, it is a direct dual-link DVI with no scalar, thus no processing to introduce extra input lag. Some monitors, including TN's, have large input lag from scalars or extra processing; the monitor's tech does not correlate to this. The filter is just basically unnoticeable to me and certainly nothing I'd be gnashing my teeth whining about and bashing a game over.

Nothing's wrong with me, the non-filtered picture looks like over-saturated crap to me on my calibrated S-IPS monitor. The dirt is colored too brightly for a dank beach, the sky looks like it's overly bright and too contrasted, etc. The filtered image looks much more realistic and pleasing to me. Grass on the non-filtered picture looks too bright green for a cloudy day, etc.

and finally, yes a new u2711 is $1000 right now. thats 27" not 30"

Most people don't go into a jewelry shop and pay MSRP.... they hunt for deals or negotiate. Same with cars. Same with computer monitors. But hey, have fun overpaying, the rest of us will spend our money wisely on good products wink.gif.

i agree, when i look at that(even on my TN120hz, which is the best i have) it looks way too colorful..grass looks plastic..trees look plastic..it feels brighter and all but its just a little bit too bright..

Response time != input lag.

P.S. Not everyone just plays one game on their computer and would count a good monitor (which can be had as little as $150-200) as a cost for that game, let alone even games in general. Some of us do, y'know, work on their computers too. I hear it's a very common thing.

You are full of it.
IPS does have slightly better colour, but the way you are describing it is total nonsense.

It's not just "slightly" better than a crap TN, but hey, you think what you want. Ignorance is bliss I guess frown.gif. Just don't complain and waste devs' time of games we play over nonsense complaints due to your own hardware that you picked. A normal or junky TN looks like night and day next to a good S-IPS biggrin.gif.
