HAF 912 Case Mod

Thread Starter
Hey everyone.. So lets get down to this quick and easy.. I purchased the HAF 912 a while back off newegg.. Well I get bored as heck living out in the sticks so what did I go and do?

CASE MOD!

That's right.. Not really much modding but I did add a shelf to kinda separate the PSU from the rest of the case. And I completely painted the chassis.. Black... So everything would just look better in my eyes..

Lastly.. I DO NOT have a DSLR camera.. I wish I did.. I have an HTC HD7 and I did the best I could.. I wasn't really worrying with pictures as much as I was about the case.. But you'll get the idea in the end.

Solid chassis IMO...

Looks good in the sunlight...

Simply put.. Piece of sheet metal.. Cut it.. Placed it.. Went about my business thumb.gif

Slot covers sanded and ready to paint..

SSD housing ready!

First things to get painted to see how it looks?

Ahh it looks good I knew it would!!

Onto the first coat

And the 2nd.. End result is what we are after right?

Looks good.. Now remember I'm going on a phone here.. An ok flash with poor lighting.. But you get the idea

All put back together.. Turned out like I imagined.. Loving it so far

Not bad for spray paint. I can't wait to get me some new hardware for this thing now.. I'm running on old stuffs hehe

Hope everyone likes it!
Sorry for the pictures I know how some of you are on here hehe smile.gif but at least you can see what I do when I get bored now.

This is awesome! If you wouldn't mine, what dimensions did you cut the sheet metal to? as in how much space did you leave between the side panel?
You did a very nice job there. Makes me want to go jump into mine again and repaint it, and remod it some. Painting it black seems fine, but one thing I noticed is that even with a good scuff with 80 grit, the paint starts peeling really quickly. Mine is already peeling, and it was only painted back in April.

And might be reflections, or bad colour calibration on my lappy, but is that a chrome facade in the mesh on the front? I like that idea.

I think I cut it around 7 and 3/4 inches wide and 1 foot long.. I bent down the edge so it would kind of "slip" into place.. It's basically just jammed in there.. But I got it look nice enough doing it this way.

Yea CoolerMaster has a type of mesh that pops in and out of the front face plate and the bottom where the PSU goes.. It's a great way to clean up dust in a hurry.. Stops a VERY good amount of dust from getting into the computer too.. But it gets dusty anyway now that I just keep the side off.. smile.gif
