Core 2 Extreme QX6700 In Stock @ Newegg - $1499

Thread Starter
Checked the first few pages of the news forum and didn't see anything on this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115011

Core 2 Extreme QX6700 in stock at newegg for $1499, limit 1 per customer. Not that I've been following Kentsfield release news closely, but I didn't expect it out now and suppose I lost track of the time of the month.

As stated, apologies if this has been posted somewhere but I didn't catch it here or in the Intel General/CPU section. Would hate to have my intro to posting in the form of a repeat thread.

Lol, wow thats not expensive at all. I think ill wait till the price drops down to the X6800 price range. That crazy high considering other places are selling it for <1,100.

$1500 on a CPU. I dunno man that's a lot of Chilidogs and Beer. I'm looking forward to a Conroe L to replace my Celeron

Oh yeah and welcome to the forums!

Wow, that is sick. Hopefully these prices will go down at some point. After all, I jsut read in computer shopper (yeah, i know, not THE most reliable source) that Clovertown will be released in early '07, at 50W TDP. That means that Kentsfield may be old, fast.

Frankly, I was in the market for a major system upgrade, but since Crysis and HL2:EP2 and Quakewars being pushed back so far, I figure I can wait for clovertown (for prices on other parts to drop).
I may break down and get a case/mobo/PSU just so I can overclock my 560 and get the most out of the X1900, but I dont think I would go any further than that.

This is crazy.....
