hi guys, i'm new here, currently i have a single 7870 on my rig and i'm planning to add another 1 next week for crossfire, but i want to know before i add the 2nd one if the drivers on crossfire is scaling well on battlefield 3..

I've got a 7850 & 7870 running in crossfire (price changes, don't ask) paired with a 1055t at 3.8ghz and at 1920x1080 it runs with everything 100% maxed out in single player at 60+ fps (average above 80). In multiplayer mode with 64 people it can drop down below 60 when stuff gets really crazy, but for the most part runs very, very well. And that's with the equivalent of 7850's crossfired, With 7870's and a strong cpu you'd do even better that that.

Note: To run crossfire, I stuck with the 12.3 drivers, after having looked around online and seen many comments suggesting that the early drivers were the best for crossfired 7850s/7870s. The only downside to this is I have problems with some newer games, such as The Secret World is kind of buggy for me.

After a quick google, here's a review of crossfired 7870s at 1080p.

To avoid the hassle, I would sell your current card and get a HD7950 at least or if you have the money go for the HD7970. I would avoid crossfire/sli since there's always a chance that it won't fully work on some games and crash your system.

@Capt Thanks i guess i'l then buy another 7870 nx week and use the 12.3 driver, other new games doesn't realy matter to me because the only game i really play everyday is BF3 so as long as 7870s dont have any issue on that game then crossfire it is..

@dannyboy3210 i also considred selling my 7870 n replace it with 2 7950s but the resale value of my 7870 here in the phil. is very low.. buyers are asking for a bargain price because most of theme are nvidia fans, so i decided to just keep my 7870 ang add another 1 for crossfire.. BF# is the only game i realy play so it doesnt matter to me of it will cause issues on new games.. also it's kind of bad ass lookin at dual vcards smile.gif
