Most games add new zones and dungeons, etc. between paid expansions. Significant amounts of them, actually, usually including raids and tons of new quests that are equivalent to a new zone's worth, new PVP instanced zones/scenarios/battlegrounds, etc. RIFT added, *FOR FREE*, a whole new continent (Ember Isle), several raids, tons of new quests, free server transfers, several new pvp zone variations, a full-on open-world style PVP zone, etc. for *FREE* before their first expansion, Storm Legion, is coming out. GW2 is going to give you.... nothing before their first expansion, as far as they've said. Want a new zone? MONEY. Want a new continent? LOTS of money. Want bank space? MONEY. Want to switch servers? PONY UP MONEY! etc.

Blizzard also planned on expansions for WoW every year. There is the plan, and there is the reality. Don't be looking for GW2's expansion in "a couple of months". Even 9 months is likely too soon.

Well, that's even worse then: game becomes even staler before a small injection of new content that requires a large paid fee. NICE plus for the ga---oh wait, no it's not.

I'm really thinking of returning to WoW. I loved ventrilo raiding with other peeps.

i'm playing and the content t'ill now is balanced, not to easy has mid/end cata not to hard has tbc, so it's in the middle between early wtlk and mid cata in my opinion at least for normal modes, questing.
For leveling it's much better than Cata, they bumped up the XP necessary to lvl up so you won't get to 90 in 10 hours or so, just has you could get from 80 to 85 tongue.gif and its very enjoyable that way and quests are fun! biggrin.gif
HC dungeons modes i'll try monday or thursday when i get to 90. professions are easy to lvl up, the problem is to farm mats to get the new recipes and crafting gear which is good, a bit like TBC when you had to farm a lot to get some good crafted blues/epics.
i was kinda doubtful if i should give it a try or not, but i did and i'm liking it so far, i just hope they won't nerf the content to the ground has they did in cata.

so you should give it a try thumb.gif

Oh and i'm remembering now, this 2.7million sales are the digital versions included? still need to get the report from the digital ones

Lose 6 million people, gain 1 million back. Interesting, but still not a good trend.

WOW offers new raid and dungeon content for free and has added zones such as Sunwell prior to any paid expansions, as well. A race change is COSMETIC in WOW, and server transfers aren't essential game content like storage space, leveling speed, crafting bonuses, and pay-money-for-gold is to buy gear with.
As I said, your points are moot: GW2 is a unique beast in its incredible micro-transaction hell. And it's going to have expansions often, with *NO* announced free zones or dungeons between them.
ArenaNet has already said they plan on adding more free level 80 content. I've already refuted your claim of "incredible micro-transaction hell". Care to back up your claims, or are you just going to keep repeating them in the vain hope they will be believed?

Who said GW2 content is stale or will become stale? There's an awful lot to do at the high levels in GW2. Here's just a sample.

I doubt those numbers also include digital copies, which Blizz pushed extremely hard this time around since the way they did it, MoP was already technically downloaded onto the player's systems. All they needed was to "flip a switch" when servers went live which activated the content for those with a MoP key linked to their account.

I've gotten keys without grinding, leveling was easy, with the bag space I see little reason for more bank space.
Your points are moot because Blizzard does a lot of the same. I'm not bashing WoW at all, simply arguing the f2p/p2p models. I've played both and honestly don't mind ponying up $15 per month.

Obviously you don't know much about WoW. Nearly every "major" patch includes new content with raids, dungeons, and dailies. Expansions differentiate themselves with new zones and more levels / abilities. However, as mentioned - every major (*.1, *.2, etc) patch has new content.

WoW is a good game still after all of these years. I like GW2 as well, don't get me wrong - but there are some things that WoW still does better. No game matches the end game raiding and boss mechanics of WoW. The dungeons in GW2 feel pretty stupid to be honest, especially without a dedicated healer. Anyway, my point is both games have good and bad points - but saying that a game is bad simply due to P2P is not true.

It's really nothing more than any other MMO @ their endgames, in fact it's frankly somewhat less as gear is so easy to obtain and max out.

Odd. The comments on that very link contain complaints about the karma grinding necessary to get exotic gear and accolades for the large amount of stuff there is to do at level 80. Are you sure you're playing the same GW2 as everybody else? Are you not playing it and making these claims out of hand?
What exactly is your experience with GW2 that causes your conclusions to seem so radical?
