Right.... You don't see people complaining about how microsoft needs to release halo for ps3 or nintendo, And they aren't hurting for market share with that game. It's going to be the same deal with the release of this phone to at&t just starting out. Now either hop on to at&t to get the phone or not!. either go buy an xbox to get halo or not. either go out and buy ps3 for uncharted, or not. either go out and buy wii for mario or not.
my point is, All these exclusive products for certain consoles fit well into the business market, and are good for everyone. It doesn't make sense from a business stand point to make every phone available for every cellphone carrier. You need exclusive perks to make the consumer feel like one carrier has more meaning when they get exlusive products.
So it's the same comparison to microsoft exclusive counsole games aswell. do you really see "halo" hurting for market share becuase it's not available for the other counsole game carriers?
Just to further refine my point, The iphone was exclusive to at&t for over a year, at the time of release. Did you see sales even once, affect the iphone being limited to at&t? I'm pretty sure nokia knows what they are doing, and it's not going to hurt them, consumers, or microsoft in the business market.
Your wrong, bcuz Nokia always sells their phones outright, u get to choose the carrier. That will be the same here in the States after AT&T gets done with their exclusive marketing scheme..!
Nokia banked their whole company off the 800 & 920... they want to sell as many phones as they can.. limiting themsevles to a half-baked 4G network isn't going to do well for them. As Verizon has the best 4G netowrk peroid and Nokia wants their 4G phones on their network too, but Verizon isn't going to give Nokia a lump sum to fool people into buying into their network, because they have nothing to hide and nobody to fool.
AT&T needs new customers and locking them to a 2-year deal using Nokia phones is worth the upfront cost (payed out to Nokia) for an exclusive 32 day right.
How many people bought iPhones under AT&T, but could not stand the service and jumped shiped the moment their contract was up?
(Nearly everyone I know, left AT&T...)
