PSU Fan rocks back and forth?

I just installed a new psu and the fan just rocks, but doesn't spin. I'll start going clockwise, then counterclockwise a very small amount so it just sits in place. Is this normal? It's a Cooler Master Silent power 850w modular PSU. I haven't tried to play a game or anything, as I feared it would overheat or something. Thanks guys!

Put it under load, it should spin up. If it doesn't, RMA the PSU.

Ok let me try that I got scared, but I bought it used off someone...so lets pray it works or I'll have to hit them up and see...I really hope I didn't get a bad one. I'll ziptie fans to it if I have to rolleyes.gif lol

I was sort of worried when I was folding on my CPU at 3.6 and my PSU fan was off. Lol. Now it's on like all the time frown.gif At the time I was using my backup board and no GPUs lol

Yeah I never got into folding or bitcoining or whatever. Interesting, but never tried it out.

I'm going to assume I didn't have enough load on it. It's an 850w and all I had was my 1045t and my 4 hdds and 2 optical drives, I left my videocard out just to test it first. Put videocard in started up battlefield 3 and it was spinning lol...I went from a coolmax 500w to an 850. Now just need a new case and another 6870 biggrin.gif

Thanks! Now I upgraded some fans added another 80mm and replaced my "quiet" 120 in the back with one that actually moves air. I should be good for a while now lol.
