Problem with Vegas cropping my video when I don't want it to

I'm making a 1280x720 video presentation and I want to record myself on my webcam at 640x480, and then put the webcam video of me in the corner of the screen. However as you can see in this screenshot, the webcam video is cropped for some reason and it cuts off my face, and it won't let me position it at the sides of the screen. Is there any way around this, so I can position the webcam layer where I want it?

i dont know vegas very well. but right there you can see where your webcam footage is being cut straight down the middle in the second frame. if you adjust the dimensions of that view or move it to put your picture in view it should technically work. also double check the layer properties and see if that might be an issue. ill try and see if i can find something for you, im not familiar with vegas but ill see if i can test out what youre doing in premiere

If you move it back into the view it doesn't crop it and it shows up correctly, but then it's in the middle of the screen and not in the corner. The problem is the project resolution is 1280x720 but the webcam is 640x480 so for some reason it doesn't let you drag the webcam layer outside of that square box. When I tried the same thing with a 1280x720 webcam it worked perfectly, but I would rather use 640x480 for the webcam so it's more of a square.
