It depends on how much you need. For standard sizes, 2.5" HDDs go up to 1TB. 750GB for a 2.5" Black. (For future reference, Black, Blue, Red, Green refer to speed and Scorpio (2.5") or Caviar (3.5") refer to size of the drive.)

Yes I mean the Asrock Z77E-ITX.

I can give you something very very small if you are fine with no overclocking and dropping to a small air cooler.

Well the price difference is like 20$ here

As for the case itself, what do you have in mind?

Some of the smallest of the small for this:
Link 1
Link 2

Both are less than 4L so they will fit pretty much anywhere. You will be limited to single slot cards which means no nVidia essentially. They are built mainly for servers and embedded solutions so they are definitely built to last and be durable.

A couple more mainstream options are the Wesena stuff.
ITX6
ITX7

All listed cases might involve a little modding to get some air intake for the 7750.

Ouch those are expensive, but well worth it I guess, much smaller than those silverstones and such

For http://www.idotpc.com/TheStore/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=928&idcategory=177#details, it's only PICO PSU I assume? It won't take a SFX PSU will it?

Edit: now as for the heatsink.. what should I get?

Pico-PSU only yes. I suggest getting this.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure if you can buy the idot pc without an included PSU. You might want to drop the customer service an email about that.

About the heatsink, I like the NT07-1156 or the Thermolabs ITX30.

Emailed, thanks about that

Those heatsinks aren't available here in my local shop (NCIX), just the NT07, however it looks like stock heatsink, and it has pretty bad reviews.

There are the Scythe shuriken, will those fit?

NT07 is pretty much the stock heatsink only shorter. It performs about the same as the stock but is much shorter.

The whole case is 66mm tall so I don't think a 64mm Scythe Shuriken will fit. tongue.gif
It doesn't list the max height for the cooler on the idot site so I can only guess what it is... Another email? redface.gif

If you do go with the NT07, I'd suggest using a lower power CPU. You can get the quad cores around 65W to 45W iirc. Also, no overclocking. But it does mean that you can get a cheaper H77 motherboard.

I understand that this is sacrificing a lot of options but if you want to get smallest possible, sacrifices need to be made.

Hmm that is true, I might be doing two builds now though, one for travel, one for home

Could you see if this is okay?

Home PC (Video editing, using multi-threaded, CUDA enabled apps, no gaming)

CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K
Heatsink: NH-D14 (Probably overkill, but I have one lying around)
Ram: 16GB
Case: Fractal Design Core 1000
PSU: Silverstone SFX 450W
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-M mATX
GPU: 660ti, or probably some Quadro in the similar price range? No Idea what to pick
Hard Drive: Samsung 830 SSD
Hard Drive 2: WD Caviar Black

Travel PC (Gaming, work)

CPU: Intel Core i5 3450S or should I get a i7 3770S?
Heatsink: NT07-1156
Ram: 16GB
Case: IdiotPC Case
PSU: PicoPSU 160 + 192W Brick
Motherboard: ASUS P8H77-I mITX LGA1155 H77
GPU: AMD 7750
Hard Drive: Samsung 830 SSD
Hard Drive 2 : WD Scorpio Black

NH-D14 is too tall to fit inside the Core 1000.

Is it just for video editing? CUDA is one thing but the Kepler series is neutered on compute.

And it's Idot not Idiot. tongue.gif
