if you apply it correctly, you wont have to clean any of the pcb,
and no, i dont have any exp. with cleaning it, ..yet smile.gif
but what most people say that its hard to remove ..idk..
check this vid..

i think a high alcohol cleaner will do just fine to clean it, 80-90%
i use spiritus for that..

Hi all

Sorry to thread steal, just wanted to ask a quick one. If your over clocking 3770k and PC hangs with black screen at windows log in or you get E4 or F4 bsod, aside from upping vcore is there anything else you can do?

Mine Boots into windows at 5ghz with 1.44v but anything higher just hangs even with 1.5v.

I'm currently at 4.4ghz with 1.12v, but went for a quick suicide run.

Try enable internal PLL overvoltage, that should do the trick

From the video it appears that they just put the liquid pro on and wiped it off. So it should be ok to clean up. I am more worried about it spilling off the die when I close everything back up and getting on the PCB. As with all thermal compounds, less is usually better.

yea,. i was thinking the same when i watched, how wil the cleaning go if its under there for lets 1 year..
i dont dare to look under the ihs now,
"never change a winning team" ..right...lol
but if i do, i will let you all know how it went smile.gif
just apply as thin as possible,
they(coollabatory) say about as thick as a newspaper page,
i think mine was half as thick, and applied about the same or less under the ihs..

o, the manual says this incase you spil some,
"If you spill some of the Liquid Metal, wipe it away thoroughly before
turning your PC on. Larger quantities can be sucked away with a syringe, or use a paper towel for smaller
amounts. For final cleaning some scrubbing detergent might be helpful. "

when i used it first time,
i noticed when i touched the little drop with the cottonswab that was in the package,
that had some CLP on it too, it wanted to merge again, so i figured it would do
the same when i put back the ihs on the die smile.gif
thats why i say all the time, put some on both die and inside ihs,
i might improve some more, bridging any gap left because it tries to merge again..
hope this makes a bit sense haha..

fold for a few days and check the hottest core then wink.gif
i can oc my 3960X (well i did that) and start folding with it but in 2 days (P8101) the temps are 5-10C higher then when i started the P8101

well euhm, you know this is OCN right wink.gif

some are folding yes,
i just oc for the fun of it, and do some benching etc, to see what my chip can do..
i got prime 24H 80-90% ram, 4.8ghz

cores 69-76-76-71C after 24H

wanted 4.9ghz too, but to get it prime 24H stable,
i almost needed 1.5V vcore, my chip isnt good with voltages,

so decided to stop there..for now anyways ..lol

Hmm I wish I had the guts to delide mine!
I got 71C on 4.5ghz 1.2v on silver arrow, i get roundish 75C with Corsair H100 same circumstances

I wish as hell I'd get a 24/7 OC on max 70c with as high frequencies as possible, i'd reckon 4.6 without deliding, or 4.8 with deliding.
