What do you all think is the most bang for the $ MoBo-wise? Is the 975 chipset enough of an improvement over the 965 to warrant the cost?

PSU: $90 Mushkin 550W
DDR2: $240 Crucial 10th Ann

$1254.

With shipping is close to $1300, so buy a case later. I'm guessing here you don't have DDR2 yet but if you do, get a Thermaltake case, they're great, specially the Thermaltake Shark.

IMO, I think you're better off with a C2D with the 4MB of L2 cache version, specially it would help more with an 8000 GTS.

Actually I have 2GB of DDR2-533, it's not 677 and it needs heat sinks on it, but it was free. So I am not complaining.

And I need HD's too...Dual 320 if they fit the budget...250's if not.

if you want the 7200.10 rpm seagates with a 16mb cache and perpendicular recording, two 250gb drives will run you $150, if you want the 320's its gonna be another $30

i wouldnt get an open box mobo either, maybe hard drives but i dont think there would be a backplate with the mobo and you get enough sata cables for jus about all the ports on the mobo i think. it shoudl come with ide and floppy cables, their jus not round.

so yea i wouldnt go with an open box mobo, oem hard drives are different story though

Ok I am having MoBo flip flop issues. Now I don't know WHAT to get. HELP?!?!?!

Good OCer, 1-PCIeX16 is good enough for now, SATA II RAID, supports PC-4200 533MHz (I decided to not get the memory at this point). I keep reading the reviews on New Egg...everytime I read them I get confused.
