Oh is that so? Is that why you can upload 20,000 songs to Google Play Music without any restrictions?
There are many cloud services such as Mediafire, Rapidshare, etc that have copyrighted content on their servers. A record label isn't going to be like "DCMA... delete this .mp3 from this guys play music because its pirated).

And Google isn't really "selling" anything, you can upgrade Google Drive storage. But they aren't really selling you a service, just promoting it. Like I said earlier in the thread, they didn't include a microSD for another reason not because they want to promote their cloud. http://blog.clove.co.uk/2012/07/10/why-do-nexus-devices-have-no-sd-card-slot/
Just like the top of that article, it's not a conspiracy to tell you to use the cloud.
Disclamer: I am not saying that this guy is right or wrong. But that is just Google's explanation on why they don't include a microSD expansion. Take it how you want. I am neutral on the situation, if there's 32GB internal memory on the device, the microSD expansion slot becomes irrelevant to me. If it was included with 32GB standard, that's great. If not, then it's not the deal breaker for me. For some it is, good for you, look for a new device.

In other news,
http://www.droid-life.com/2012/10/09/lg-nexus-in-the-wild-one-more-time-owner-reveals-details-8gb-storage-8mp-camera-and-more/

Looks like 8GB is a confirmation. Tsk tsk tsk.

No LTE so far, hoping it's on the official release but doubting it now. Deal breaker for me...

Here's the 360-degree view of the LG Nexus. I'd say it does look pretty, though just a refinement of the Galaxy Nexus design.

And regarding the storage, remember that this is only a prototype device; it's likely that Google will ship production devices with much higher internal storage capacities. I've heard that the Galaxy Nexus had a prototype that came in at 8GB, yet when the phone was sold in quantity the storage options were in 16 and 32GB variants.

Let's hope that's true and when it comes to the design. Not too fond that it looks exactly as its predecessor, wish there were more rumors/leaks on other Nexus devices. With the nonstop rumor train of the LG Nexus, it makes me feel like there'll only be one Nexus just like the other years (and a tablet) for this year's holiday season.

its a Nexus device................. it has been this way for the past two years, why do people seem so surprised?
i dont get the point of coming into this thread and pointing out that "nexus devices dont have microsd expansion slots" ... its been like this forever.

you dont like the nexus and googles decision for not having microsd? alright then. go get yourself a s3, note ii or find another phone.
Screen sounds fantastic. 2GB of RAM very nice. But no microSD and a max 16GB built in storage? If a phone does not have microSD, there needs to at least be a 32GB option. I would never have gotten my current GNex if it was not 32GB.

Again, do not assume that because the prototype runs on 8GB that the production unit also follows suit. The final hardware revision may feature higher capacities, or better yet, improved specs and design from the initial version seen here.

^- Agreed, Also it could start at 8 and there could be a 32gb option

For me, I really need more than 16gb, I understand Google's reasoning with MicroSD and I've read one too many things about Apps not functioning right if installed to a MicroSD card, MicroSD is useful for pictures and music(Because i can transfer that stuff using my USB3.0 card reader which means it goes REALLY fast), but again, its not a must for me and i understand the reasoning

Cloud isnt practical for most people, its a problem of ideas getting ahead of the infastructure, and the main problem is that many folks do NOT have unlimited data or do NOT have a good solid reliable cellular data connection...if im on a plane i cant use a data connection anyways (Well some flights yes, some flights no..) so yeah.. And thats an example of where i really might want to have a lot of music on my phone...
