[CNET] Apple accused of hiding U.K. Samsung 'apology' with code

First noted by users on news-sharing site Reddit, Apple has within the past few weeks installed JavaScript code that dynamically resizes the central image on the Apple U.K. Web site to take up the maximum amount of space possible.

As a result, the central image -- currently an iPad Mini -- takes up just enough space to push the "apology" statement out of sight, meaning visitors must scroll down the page to view it.

Isn't that great!?

So Apple is pretty much trying to cover up the apology letter.

It was a clear win for Ifone, they registered 4 years before Apple how could they think they would win?
Haha. Oh wow. Apple's going to sue Mexico next.
Hahaha!!

Oh dear oh dear. This is just pathetic. Though I'm fairly certain there's nothing more the judge can do about it since they now fully comply.

Here's the legal notice:
Quote:
Samsung / Apple UK judgment

On 9 July 2012 the High Court of Justice of England and Wales ruled that Samsung Electronic (UK) Limited’s Galaxy Tablet Computers, namely the Galaxy Tab 10.1, Tab 8.9 and Tab 7.7 do not infringe Apple’s Community registered design No. 0000181607-0001. A copy of the full judgment of
the High Court is available from www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/Patents/2012/1882.html.

That Judgment has effect throughout the European Union and was upheld by the Court of Appeal of England and Wales on 18 October 2012. A copy of the Court of Appeal’s judgment is available from www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWCA/Civ/2012/1339.html. There is no injunction in respect of the Community registered design in force anywhere in Europe.

That's more like it. That's what was requested. Not this embelishment making Apple out to be awesome and the judge to be out of touch.

And also I don't think the title of the article "accused" is correct, it's quite obvious!

US

You can see it's not the same same and that the footer is just poking out of the bottom of the image in the US copy.

Touché, Apple, touché.

I don't think apple is going to held in a very good light over in the UK court system from now on.
I've beign feeling kind of patriotic lately biggrin.gif, but I'm still surprised Apple didn't just bribe the judges to rule in it's favor. The Mexican goverment is widely known for being extremely corrupt

Personally I think this is awesome. I believe the judge made a petty call making another company "apologize" to another company on their website. So apple basically said "Fine I will comply by putting it on my main page, but out of sight" so there isn't anything the judge can do. They are complying but in their own way because they don't agree with the decision. Haha
