I don't really want to get into a drawn-out semantics debate, but it's not racist. Their race has nothing to do with their cheap labor/materials/methods/etc. Assigning a description to a geographic location doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the race of people there. That's beside the fact that you don't have to believe a stereotype when it's true. Chinese goods are cheaper because they cut corners. That's a fact. Minimum wage isn't the only reason it costs significantly more to manufacture in the US.

You said Chinese in general. Chinese and Hong Kong are two different countries. You're basically saying that Hong Kong is Chinese, when in fact both countries are both run independently.

Hong Kong batteries are just as fine as any OEM. Maybe not exactly identical, but you get what you paid for. You don't necessarily get a battery that is just purely awful and dies within the hour. But yes you should be wary on WHOM you buy it from, particilarily a top rated seller which means more to the seller because if they sell counterfeit products you can complain to eBay to get your money back from PayPal and then they would get into trouble as well as eBay is their prime source of money.

Like I said again, it's very hard to produce a counterfeit battery with NFC capabilities on it which you keep NOT acknowledging.

Where exactly did I say that China and Hong Kong were the same? I never stated or implied that.

OP's link to battery is from Hong Kong... you referred to them as Chinese when the proper term for citizens living in Hong Kong is a "Hong Konger."

It's simple, don't be racist and say that all items produced and manufactured from China are of lesser quality when that is not true and is a stereotype. Apple always get praised for their works with build quality and their phones feeling good. It's made out of China. Except the whole "chirping fiasco."

If you would like to discuss more about this, then PM me but I'm not going to hijack OP's thread and argue with you.

I heard many stories about cell phone battery exploded, so I think it's better to get OEM battery.

Hong Kong is not a country, it's a city. Hong Kong SAR (Special Administrative Region) not "Country". People in HK are Chinese, they speak Cantonese (Chinese). Hong Kong don't have many factories, so they do import a lot of goods (including goods from China).

Me racist? HAHAHA. So I stated how Chinese manufactures an inferior product. That Japan manufactures a better battery cell.
I'm Korean. If anything, I would choose a Chinese product over a Japanese product. But guess what? Quality of Japanese products are superior to Chinese products.
HK? So what if HK has their own legal system and only select places accept China's currency. It's still in China. Sure it's from the mainland and some things are sold from HK. But they are contracted through the same manufacturers. They are all made in China (mainland) not Hong Kong. I've questioned this with many companies that originate from Hong Kong.
HK companies have ideas and contract manufacturing to the mainland. Then they resell. China (the mainland) will continue to manufacture lower quality item even after they get decommissioned. Then they sell it without having to deal with the tolerance and quality control of the original company. They become replicas and counterfeits with lower quality standards. Since they don't care. It's all about the money.

Honestly. If I could, I would buy everything from Korea if you can or find a reputable US Seller. Do you know any of this from experience? Or are you just quick to pull the trigger and call me a racist over a battery?
Have I been burned many times from mainland China AND Honk Kong? Yes. I've purchased many items in bulk since 2002. Did Paypal cover me? No.
Do I still buy from both HK and China? Yes. It seems you are just ignorant to the facts. You can't even compare Foxconn with the other manufacturing practices of other companies. Most are just random shops that pop up all over China. Foxconn has an exclusive contract with with Apple and many other companies. They have standards and funding. They meet expectations and the products sell for hundreds to thousands of dollars. I never said all items from China. But most...

Don't tell me you think that a manufacturer has the same man power and equipment solely to make $6.99 batteries and you brought Foxconn into this conversation to accuse me of being a racist. There is a reason why a lot of auction leave out "genuine" and "authentic".

As a former Marine, that served to protect your freedoms... what if I was a racist?

Not really. You're not acknowledging anything without any valid evidence. You just point fingers at supposed racism.
This guy even removed Samsung as a trademark issue because it's a mystery special.
I bought a "OEM" back from him... it originated from mainland China. I had to get a replacement because of poor fitment.
Then the finish started wearing off and started getting scuffed because it's inferior to the real thing.

Watch out. He's gonna call you a racist for stating valid facts.

I didn't even know that the battery in OP's link was from Hong Kong, so stop being so accusatory. My posts were referencing the previous posts in the thread.

Once again, you call me racist with no regard to what I told you in my second to last post. You don't know a thing about economics if you think the build quality of East Asian goods matches that of goods made elsewhere. That's the entire reason they supply the rest of the world. The savings they make by cutting corners/having bad working conditions/low wages/etc are passed along to us. That's the reason US jobs are outsourced. Of course there will be exceptions, but as a whole, the quality is inferior. It may be a stereotype (which also happens to, by and large, be true), but it has nothing to do with their race. It's not remotely related to their race. Learn the definition of a word before you use it. Goods made in Central America are also the result of cheap labor and lax regulation. It's not limited to just East Asia.
