Gaming on Haswell?

Thread Starter
I was wondering, if anyone knows, will Haswell be as powerful as I`ve heard about it? Will it be much better for gaming than i5 3570K (procesor in the same price group, when it actually comes out)? I know nothing is official, but I`ve heard something like "Haswell will have 8 and 10 core CPU-s, it will wipe floor with previous generation.." and that smells very fishy to me...

no.
maybe

everythings speculation.

I doubt they will make 8 and 10 core CPUs for gaming.... They are not needed. They might make a standard 6 core i7 or something. I bet it will only be a 10%-15% upgrade from ivy, but it will be more power efficient.

I have not looked into it very much, these are only my thoughts and assumptions.

Here is a pretty good article from anandtech.com about haswell and some of the changes. Overall from what all I have read you can expect a 5-15% cpu performance increase clock for clock vs ivy bridge. It is supposed to be much more power effecient and the integrated graphics (ewwww) is going to be a huge upgrade over the intel 4000.

there is no competition on amds side so they are only going to make it better just as they did with sandy and ivy..the only thing massivly improved is the igpu..amd hands down beats intel at internal graphics..but no body games with a hd4000 any way..wish they didnt include it in the k searies to make them cheaper in overall cost and production.
