GTX 560 Acceptable Temperature

Thread Starter
My graphics card [2 months old] has a habit if getting warm. I don't know how warm is too warm though. using EVGA precision, I usually find it going around 70 degrees Celsius [wrong spelling?] in games like Battlefield 3 and Guildwars 2. however, using Precision I usually bump the fan speed up to 60 which brings the temperature down to ~50- 55 C. what temperature should I be concerned to exceed and what temperature should I aim for?

CARD: EVGA GTX 560 Superclocked It has the funny shroud with no decals and smooth edges.

My son's 560ti regularly hits 88C. I wouldn't worry about it.

70c looks a little hot for just a gtx 560 (non ti?) in a large case.

Do you have good air flow in there? 70c is a acceptable temp range under load but I would expect the card to not get that hot although its within spec if it does.

My GTX 560 ti's (when i tested only one card at at time in my rig) run at 65c MAX at 95-100% gpu usage but thats with the fan speed only going up to about 55-60%. When I play guild wars 2 though the card never went above 60c.

I would just set a fan profile

This mysterious "Fan Profile" sounds intriguing.... my card is overclocked so that may account for the 5 degree difference. tell me more about the fan profile? [PS: I live in connecticut too.]

oh yeah where about? I live in Monroe near trumbull/newtown/danbury/shelton

In msi afterburner click on enable user fan profile on the fan profile section then make a custom fan curve by just making dots, like at 70c you want the fan to be @ 70% speed. I'm sure theres a way in EVGA precision but I only use MSI AB.

Alright, makes sense to me. Thanks for the help bro. I'm holed up in New Canaan, but if it matters, I head up to Trumbull to the mall every couple of months or so. They have good pretzels there XD

[it worked]

Nice man, yeah sometimes if you just set the fan speed to kick in a little earlier you should stay good with the temps. I'm about 10minutes from trumbull.
