That comes from the large flat connector (at the drive end,it has 5 pins at the drive end).Are you asking about the potential state of health of your hdd's?

No, asking if I'll need power to my harddrives to get to my desktop

Regardless, there is no 4 pin connector on my mobo.

Thinking of just rma the computer and get the mobo replaced

To see your "desktop" your computer must boot sucessfully.To sucessfully boot the hdd does need power (but it also needs a data link and be configured correctly and loaded with an OS)"No 4 pin" on the mobo.If you are talking about the connector on the motherboard that provides power for the cpu and yours is only 8 pins,you can just plug the correct 4 pin off the power supply into the correct 4 of the 8 pin on the motherboard,it is keyed to make this easy.
