Just got a new internal HDD should use the quick format or do the long format to NTFS ?

I don't think it matters what model I got but anyway it's a caviar green 2TB. What should I do or whats recommended.

Quick format is sufficient, as the long format is just a quick format + platter read.

Personally, when I get a new drive, the first thing I do is zero write the entire surface to make sure there are no flaws, then quick format and use.
