Hey guys...

Long time no see....

Right now I'm really hurtin' in the computer department...

I'm running an e4300 @ 1.8GHz (Core2Duo) 4GB DDR2 800MHz, a Radeon HD6450 (PCI-e 2.1), a hitachi 160GB 7200rpm HDD (SATA II)

anyways, it's depressing.

For those of you that know what I have had in the past, this is crummy lol.

Anyhow, I'm running 32bit win XP

should I wipe the HDD and install win 7 64?

My plans eventually are to upgrade the crummy proc, and the gpu and the psu and hdd. But then again, it's just ridiculous I could buy a new one for all the money I'd put into it.... (Yep, this is a dell prebuilt...)

So anyways, win 7 or not?

Would it run better than xp? is it worth my time?

Thanks again.

....... there plenty of reviews out there. and honestly it just going to change the experance. but that it. if your doing it yourself i say go for it but if your paying for it to be done dont waste your time. also make sure you change the bois to ahci(think thats how it spell) it will help things run better as well.

Do it and then go read Sean's guide to optimizing Win7 so it runs fast.

Install windows 7 64bit its a great OS. just watch out from windows 8 don't even think about it its total crap!
I would honestly get a new computer before windows 8 comes out, because that is going to be complete crap, and you might even be able to get some on sale seeing as though windows 8 is coming out soon.

What hardware did you have before hand and why do you have to use this new hardware? Just curious.

There's brand new laptops being sold right now at best buy that process slower and they're running Windows 7.

But they'll be full of bloat and no doubt run slow as hell. It's vista all over again. Almost.
