Yet Apple is helping to fix the problem, and has been for sometime. Link: http://www.apple.com/supplierresponsibility/code-of-conduct/ also http://www.digitaltrends.com/international/applesupplier-foxconn-improving-working-conditions/

I don't know how is it now, but I don't expect it to change. Other Branding company are also guilty of this, but Apple is the worst of all.
It's actually $8. Apple has been working with Foxconn and they have improved wages and decreased work hours.

They are a part of the solution as they are trying to, and are improving working conditions at Foxconn. Hopefully other companies will follow Apple's example and do the same. See the above links I posted.

why you ask? the german prime minister is a woman, and shes run the country for the last 20 ish years if i remember correctly.
the point is if we got women into office to run countries like the united states, the country would always be in the black instead of the red.
the only man i know who was smart enough to balance the U.S's ban books was reagan, when he left office the debt was zeroed, then bush ran it back into the red because they didnt vote reagan back in.
that said the same applies for corporations, you notice the ones run by women take care of thier workers more and less people quit?
because women dont thrive on the billions of dollars they control, they use it wisely to create more, rather than pulling an apple (no pun intended).

i gotta correct myself
as long as human beings are in charge
then again we'd have some wiseguy saving everyone from "imprisonment" from robots

That's from your source. Apple only gives a crap because it could steamroll into a mountain of stink for them real quick.
This is a "Look Apple Cares <3" ploy to spin a bad situation into good marketing for them. It's PR. I can assure you Apple nor most other corps that use Foxconn, really gives a rat's rear end about how they run their operations. If they did this wouldn't ever have gotten this far.

Don't be Naive. Apple doesn't love Foxconn workers or you. Only wallets wink.gif

I'm not naive. And that's just speculation. No one knows what Apple would have done had the spotlight not been turned on them, or what they were doing to improve conditions before that. All we know is that they're doing it now.

Love? no. I do think they care though. You'd have to be a real monster to not care.

I don't quite get it, are we so comfortable living in a debt-run society?
.. go lenovo

Because of the rules and regulations.

America isn't the only country that has been outsourcing to China and India, If Apple did bring manufacturing state-side then the prices would have to increase 20-50% and the profit margin would be narrower.

An iPhone factory in the states would be a nightmare. The workers would refuse to work more than 8 hours a day and every winter season they'd go on strike so that their union can 'negotiate' higher wages for them. Or a free bag of chips at lunch or some other retarded crap.

Not that unions always go to such extremes, but with how much money Apple has on the line with release dates and what not you KNOW they'll try and extort as much as they can out of them.

On top of that, the wage difference would make the iPhone (or any other tech product) cost more than most people could afford.
