Crossover 2730MD-P @ 125Hz 6ms / 30Q5 Pro @ 75Hz 5ms

Well, I was in market for the Crossover and visited their site. They now have a overclock model 2730MD and -P for the guys here who want to run at 125Hz. Personally, I was in market for the 27Q LED-P but surfing for so long got me to think about the 30Q5 Pro (75Hz 5ms) or the 2730MD (125Hz 6ms) I'm in more favor of the 30" since they give 102% color gamut vs 72% since I'll be mostly using this for Photoshop editing pictures of my kids. What do you guys think about these new monitors? The 30" runs about $500 plus shipping if you know some people in Korea that might ship it to you. I'll be asking my friends over there to ship it after making sure there is no defect, stuck, dead pixel. Perfect Pixel on ebay on 27Q LED-P runs at $499 shipping included so I guess I can spend nother $100 or $150 more to ship it from Korea on the 30"

http://crosslcd.co.kr/main.html?tmp=product&pg=2730MD-P it's new and they advertise it to be over clocking model capable of 125Hz Most likely they won't be selling this unit for awhile since I'm sure they are running low on stock just to keep the PC cafes in korea. Every street in Korea pretty much has a PC Cafe and they are mostly for gamers and they usually have 50 to 100 PCs there.

Oops, I see the link already given. Anyhow looks pretty cool!!

Awww man i JUST pulled the trigger on a white Crossover 27Q not even two days ago, after months and months and tens of hours of research into upgrading my 8 year old dying 21" Samsung CRT, to buy my first ever LCD! Now that it's literally on the plane on its way here i see this frown.gif
I've put up with a random green tinge on this monitor for about a year, i would've happily waited a little longer and spent an extra $100-$150 for 120hz.

Well, 2730MD isn't even listed on gmarket. Still under production maybe. When it hits the US I think it'll be around $550 to $600. I'm just few days away from pulling the trigger on a 30Q5 Pro since I won't be gaming. I wonder what color calibration tool I need to buy to make those colors true. By the way, there is a seller on ebay that sells the 27Q LED-P that is supposed to have a A+ panel. The seller claims to have the only model that is perfect pixel from the manufacturer not the second hand or seller rating. I looked it up and seems to be true. So, if I can't find a Perfect Pixel model on the 30Q5 Pro, I might just get the 27Q for now.

Just wanted to post that I've went ahead and ordered the 2730md-p. I've actually already gotten the tracking info minutes ago. From the looks of it, I might be one of the first in the States lay my hands on one of these as according to eBay only 1 has been sold and I must assume that's me.

This will be my first Korean IPS and I'm hoping the claims of 125hz aren't just smoke. I won't be terribly disappointed if it is as I'm really in it for the gorgeous picture I hear so much about. I currently game on a 23" 120hz LG TN display and like it but for some reason I've got an itch to check out these larger Korean IPS monitors.

Registered here to get the ball rolling, will let everyone know what I think when I get it and have time to tinker with the refresh a bit. With that said, does anyone know of a good tutorial to follow for display overclocking? A brief search brought up a Youtube video I think will suffice though any tips would be appreciated.

Have you got a link to the seller? I thought 125hz mode only applied to 1080p res, and scaled back to 60hz at 1440p.

pretty interesting. Prices will fluctuate quite a bit once people hope on it.

thanks, but isn't the 2730md-p the one with a higher refresh rate?

I'm pretty sure the P at the end of the model number only designates that it has a different, higher quality stand which pivots.

As for if it scales at 1440p, well I guess I'll find out. Heard some discussion that some people think that there is a scaler at all will be enough to eliminate the possibility of an overclock that high. We shall see. I aim to find out smile.gif
