That's with every other monitor that claims "10 bit".

What else would it mean? Your monitor needs to support 10 bit, your video card needs to support 10 bit, and your programs need to support 10bit. If anything's missing, then you're not seeing 10bit colour (besides the fact that it's not "true" 10 bit colour, it's 8bit +FRC to simulate 10 bit). The monitor's not gonna magically start showing you colours that the video card isn't telling it to show (and if it is, there's something very wrong with your monitor), and your video card isn't gonna tell the monitor to show 10 bit colour if a program isn't telling it to tell the monitor to show 10 bit colour.

But again, @ Wildfire, are you seeing all the bars of the RRM when you're running at 80hz? Or is it skipping any?

Thats true of any monitor that is 10bit+ period... the panel used in this monitor is indeed capable of outputting 10bit colour depth (since they're claiming it can), don't make it seem like I'm saying its not.
Tho has anyone actually done testing on this?

Then why did you say your first comment? Obviously your comment applies to all monitors that can do 10 bit.

Is it really 10bit?
Afaik 10bit is not supported over dvi only displayport, it's also not supported on consumer cards (drive disabled)
The application also needs to be able to produce 10bit colour.

...which wasn't directed at you at all?
If he's using his sig rig, he's not getting 10bit output unless he's using modded Quadro drivers and has DP on his 580, since as I said, nVidia disables 10bit output on consumer cards and only supports 10bit output over DP; hence my question of whether or not he was really getting 10bit signal, which his post and your subsequent post implies..

Wildfire, can you confirm when using the refresh rate multitool, do you see every single white bar? Or does it skip any? Course a lot of users here will be interested in getting it if this can truly overclock to 120hz. Thanks for your help. thumb.gif

Exactly. Hence why the 10 bit argument used by those advocating the U2713 is useless.

The U2713hm isn't 10 bit...

That means the U2713HM isn't worth getting over the Korean S-IPS monitors.

The U2711 would be worth it if it wasn't for the AG.

Double post for some reason. Sorry.
