so im just about to order my budget rig for general use and a bit of gaming and by that i mean some cod and world of tanks which consists of a A10 5800k on a GA-F2A75M-D3H £153 which i thought was ok for the money but was just wondering if for the same or similar money could i get a intel system with a gpu which would out perform this one ?

also a bit of topic but am i right in thinking that not every 1155 cpu can be overclocked ? if so can some one help me understand which 1155 cpu's can be overclocked and how you find this out . iv been out of the overclocking game for a few years so im a bit rusty cheers thumb.gif

for 150 pounds you can't get a intel core i3 with motherboard and a discrete GPU . The AMD 10 will easily run 50% faster than Intel core i3 with the integrated graphics. also AMD has better drivers and game compatibility when compared to Intel.

For gaming at 1280 x 720 and 1366 x 768 with medium settings AMD A10 Trinity is perfect. thumb.gif

From what I gather, you can still overclock any old Intel CPU, but the overclockability is extremely minor due to technical reasons. Therefore Intel has made overclock-friendly CPUs - these are parts with model numbers ending in a 'k' such as the i5-2500k. (similar to AMD's classic "Black Edition CPUs)
