Help in notebook RAM upgrade

Thread Starter
My notebook seemed to be getting quite slow these days.
To cope the problem, I decided to have a RAM upgrade to a dual channel system.

I've read few articles before that having two RAM sticks of the same specs will provide a slight boost in performance.
But still I can't figure how to improve the speed, responsiveness and to reduce frame lags in games.
I'm just using the notebook for online gaming though.

Should I upgrade to a dual channel kit (2X2GB)? Any other suggestion is gladly appreciated.

Really hope somebody could lend me a hand here. Thanks.

My Specs : Acer Aspire 4253

AMD Dual Core APU (E-350)

320GB HDD

AMD Radeon HD 6310

2GB DDR 3 Memory

yes, it will boost the speed of your system. is this your laptop?

it says it is upgradable up to 8GB (2x4Gb). you can just match the one installed and add another.

for overall efficiency, i suggest a ssd.

Yup, thats my model.
Thnx a lot man! I prefer the ssd built up. Any suggestions on which ssd should I buy for my laptop?

I've searched pretty much around but just don't have any idea which fits in at an economical price.
64 GB won't be a problem as I travel around with an external hdd. Any recommendations???

laptop rams are still expensive. if the price of another 2GB is almost the same as 4Gb, then i would go with the 4GB for a total of 6GB. but definetly add more ram from 2GB.

i only have experience with one ssd and that is a kingston sata II. there are several models some are better than others. similar cases with other brands. mine never had issue and never needed any firmware upgrade but only used it on my desktop. get at least a 128 preferrably a 256GB. use this guide . . .

be careful. there are some that generate heat and not suited for laptops. not sure which ones.

edit: if your os is 32 bit, then you only need 1GB of ram more.
