I searched the forums, but couldn't find anything about this. If it is a double post, let me know and I will delete it.
Here is the cnet source
I have to say, I am was hoping that the aquisition of Motoroal by Google would do quit the opposite to what is going on. From what I have been reading, Google purchased Motorola for the patents mostly?
I also found another article on the same thing at another source I read reguarly. It made me laugh, here is what it said.
That last line really made me laugh lol. This website doesn't have the best English, but what they post turns out to be pretty accurate time over time. If you want to see on their website, HERE is that link.
Guess this just cements that my next phone will NOT be a Moto..

Google has further evaluated Motorola Mobility's business and has found more parts that it wants to dump.
The company said today in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it has identified additional areas in which it plans to cut staff and restructure the mobile firm. Google says that those actions will occur outside of the U.S. and include $300 million in costs related to employee severance. Google also expects to incur $90 million in charges for "facility and market exits," though it will pay only $40 million of that this quarter.
"Google Inc. expects to incur certain charges in connection with planned restructuring actions at its wholly-owned subsidiary Motorola Mobility (Motorola)," CFO Patrick Pichette wrote in the filing published today. "Motorola has continued to refine its planned restructuring actions and now expects to broaden those actions to include additional geographic regions outside of the U.S."

Becoming the owner of Motorola, Google started a major restructuring of its acquisition. First, the number of mobile devices developer staff was reduced by 20%, then Google announced its intention to sell unwanted units.
The restructuring will cost Google around $ 340 million. The funds will be used for payment of severance and other related costs. In addition, Google plans to start cleaning staff in other regions outside the U.S., which, in turn, will lead to new costs that, according to the giant, could be significant.
The main purpose of Motorola acquisition, is the huge package of patents owned by the developer. Thus the Internet giant is trying to protect themselves and their partners from attacks by the well-known patent troll, which, for example, can be safely attributed to Apple.
