The Xeon does not suffer from any mystical loss of "responsiveness" because it is not a consumer chip. Under most circumstances, the responsiveness of a machine in day to day operations like opening files and browsing the web will be bottle-necked at the drive speed or web connection. There is no mystical advantage to a particular "i" series chip.
