Bad ESN phones

Hello,

I've seen several galaxy s3 for sale with bad ESN. I am wondering what can be done to use them.

I live in canada, I will use Rogers as carrier (I think AT&T and rogers are the same company) so could I put my SIM into a sprint bad ESN phone and use it with rogers?

If no, is there any solution? I heard you could flash it, I guess replacing the motherboard will change the ESN, anything else?

I might be wrong, but ESN phone doesn't use a SIM card right?

Most of the time, people just get them for parts or flash them to other carriers (Might be wrong on this too) .

Hope this helps! thumb.gif

I don't know well, I currently have the SGH-i747m with rogers (bought from the store) and this galaxy s3 has a sim card slot.

The models from sprint are SPH-L710 so you might be right these phones doesn't require sim cards. Thus, they wouldn't be compatible with or without bad ESN with my carrier - in this case I can definitively forget that option if it appears being true.
