Added Rad, Worse Temperatures

Thread Starter
I was getting a maximum of 55C on my 7970 i thought i could get it down a bit more, i added a 120 Koolance Rad since I already had a 240 and 120 Koolance rad, with the new radiator my temps are reaching 65C!
What have i done wrong?
I didn't change any paste besides the CPU which hasn't resulted in any difference in temps on the core.

Only thing i changed on this setup was the 120 rad and i replaced the fans with these:
https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=15301

The original fans were these:
https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=11491

Could it be the fans?

This is how my system is setup also
PUMP/RES-240 Rad-CPU-120Rad-GPU-120Rad-Pump/RES

Thanks for Reading thumb.gif

EDIT: Forgot to mention I added the EK FC Link to the GPU, so i could place the rad tube to the GPU loop neatly. Could that be the cause?

Is the GPU inlet and Outlet the wrong way? I used to have the left as an inlet and right as outlet?

What pump do you have in your loop? If you're using one of XSPC's old pumps it might not be powerful enough to push water through that many rads and blocks.

Is part of your loop air bound? I mean if you had some air in one of your radiators maybe that would jack up your temps.

Hmmm, i guess i might try tilting my case back and forth a bit more.
It does still have air in. cause when i crank it up to 5 from 2 you can hear the water SWOOSH through the loop, i find with this reservoir it impossible to get air out.

Yeah it takes me like 45 minutes to bleed all the air out of my loop. But I only have a 360 radiator and a D5. I always run it on 5. I have to tip mine all the way forward many times.

Just a quick question, when bleeding the loop do you leave the CAP of the res on or off, i leave it on sometimes off others, when open i feel as if more air gets in, when closed i feel like its disappearing but not doing anything at the same time. ALso just tried tilting my case, looking through the blue tubing it goes from blue to a cloudy blue immediately.

Also you shouldn't leave it on 5, pump will not last as long as say 2-3 which has a temp difference of around 2C.

I leave the cap on. Unless adding water. So if it gets cloudy the pump is sucking air, at least that what happen with mine. And my rig only runs when I game or bench. Its less then 3 months old and only run about 80 hours... 50 of which were prime 95 runs.
