7% more IPC AND 7% more freqeuncy. Does this mean it's the same IPC as a Bulldozer?

Not really. While the IPC increased by 7%, the 4GHz base clock of the 8350 can add up more performance.

I was at that event today. I got lots of cool hardware and quite a few lucky people walked out with the new unreleased FX chips.

7% better ipc and 7% higher frequency means that the performance increase will be around 14% which is close to the 15% they originally promised.

Looks to be on target. Just hope they got good results from RCM and tweaks for energy efficiency when OCing. That would be a sweet bonus.

IPC != IPS.

If it was 7% IPS gain with 7% frequency gain... then yes the IPC would be the same as Bulldozer. But an IPC gain WITH a frequency gain is very good news... especially with the 15% higher efficiency he mentioned.
