Gaming In The 80's/90's - Page 2

Console games have obviously changed graphics wise, but they're fundamentally the same. Arcades on the other hand......they were so much better in the 90s. All arcade games now a days just have that terminator fps and Time crisis/House of Dead. I like back in the day when it was all fighting games, you'd have that big joystick and maybe like 4 colorful buttons. Long live fighting arcade games!

Do you have a copy you could possibly link me/message me?

I also remember "Jill of the Jungle" and I remember the "Amazing graphics" of Crash Bandicoot 1 which was towards the later 90's.

EDIT: NVM found it, anyone using DOSBOX you can drag the .exe to it to run it too!

Super Mario 64 Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World. I still have that same N64 with the same cartridge. And I bought an FC Twin, friend gave me a copy of Super Mario World and I bought Super Mario All-Stars for Wii.

Mid to late 90s gaming was perhaps the best. There were just a ton of innovative and challenging games around. Third person action/adventure was such a good genre, games like Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, Zelda, even Diddy Kong Racing and Banjo Kazooie/Tooie. FPS was also a much more interesting genre back then, we saw the debut of Half Life, but Turok and Turok 2 stole the show for me. I still play these games today, it's hard to believe how much better they are than modern games of the same genre.

clearly you haven't seen or even heard of indie games. I have spent a quite a few hours on Steam Greenlight and you'd be all over the retro games.

I suppose you mean "haven't" instead of have. If you looked at my Steam profile, you'd see I have a bunch of indie games. I guess I should have clarified: games such as the ones I listed are much better than mainstream titles of the same genre, though even in terms of indie games, I've found no 3rd person action adventure game that lives up to those.
