[EK] EKWB releases it's first bay reservoir / pump combo unit - Page 2

Im curious as to what sparked EK's fetish with circles. Their products looked so clean and understated when they were just plain with the EK logo. Now everything they make has these horrendous circles.

Good job EK. You went from having some of the most sought after waterblocks to completely alienating yourselves out of a market that used to love your products. All because you looooove circles.

I honestly don't know why they don't do something like what XSPC does with their bay reservoirs, which is to provide both a black and a silver insert. EK could easily provide an option (or include both) that has "Circles" and just a clear plexi front, and let the customer pick (or pay for) what they want.

Yeah it would have cost them $0.75 more money (or they could have charged $2.50 for the optional non-circle one), but because EK has become so bull headed on this circle motif, instead of spending $0.00 or $0.75 more, they will very often LOSE $40 or more when people just simply say no and buy from a host of other companies.

Nope, I meant by 'their stuff' as a lot of their product line thumb.gif It just looks stupid, like a school project that had a massive blank part on it, so a child decided he would carve something into it

It's gone from this smart look

what's with all the hate towards EK? i kinda like the circles, but i agree that it has to be implemented well to look good.

and as blackbalt, i would love to know the source of the new design.

No hate towards EK, I like their products, and always liked the way they looked sleek and elegant in people's builds. I just don't get the circles

and any idea when this reservoirs be available? (and the Maximus V Formula block?)
and why there are so many dual bay res / pump but no single? i'd love to see more single, like a single bay res with a 35x would be sweet.

Koolance makes the RP-402, which is single bay dual pump. Have one working in my gf's puter with one 25x and it is just a great bay res.

It's sad, because I have a fair amount of EK items and I love them, but as long as they keep putting out those stupid "circle design" things, I *REFUSE* to spend another penny on any of it.

Plating issue was just the last thing they had problems with , I refuse to use EK on anything because quality is just crap and to now add circles just makes it more unattractive , looks like they left the bubble rap on everything .

i have considered it, but for a 100$ its a bit difficult to choose... (when XSPC has for half the price)

what i would love to see is either a single bay D5 res (i know it is very hard to do) or a dual bay res with special space for a fan controller. (very good for people with only 3 5.25 bays)

The "Hate" towards EK stems from their (EK) trying to blame their poor quality nickle plating problems on everyone but themselves.

Their "Dislike" towards the EK "Circles" stems from what a majority of the population doesn't like or want to see on their components.

EK would do well, especially for their bottom line, to learn to address BOTH of these issues, and stop blaming everyone else for their failings and start giving people the design ques THEY want, and not what EK wants.
