Planning on crossfiring two 6950s on a newer intel board. Any issues with that?

I agree with the others NO PROBLEMO! Do you already have the 6950s? Which ones did you get? If you have not bought them yet I may recommend to you the 7850 it has the same performance but less power draw. Also depending on which 6950s you have if you already have them you can possibly unlock the shaders so that you have 6970 shaders. Just do not use a 6970 bios it needs to be an unlocked 6950 bios.
