Some questions about the Roccat Savu

Thread Starter
I'm thinking of buying this mouse, but I'm a poor college student so I have to be cautious before buying it.

1. Does anyone know if this mouse has any major problems?

2. Are there any mousepads it doesn't work well with?

3. Does anyone find the shape suitable for fingertip grip?
1. Jitter is quite pronounced at 40000DPI
2. Cannot find one that is being sold
3. Works well for me

No.

Razer Scarab and SteelSeries S&S give lower PCS of around 2.5m/s, some other metal hard pads might lower PCS even further. Partially that's because of the IR LED.

Yes.

LED and other hardware might just need adjusting. (Don't believe it's specifically an IR type issue)

It barely gets more than ~1.5m/s PCS on an Artisan Shiden XSOFT. No complaints using my Zowie G-TF.

It happened with all the IR illuminated mice I've trown at them, whereas the red LED illuminated mice have usually no problem tracking on them.

Tested with Zowie AM, CM Storm Spawn, Abyssus, Savu.

In normal conditions, Spawn, Abyssus and Savu have more a less the same top tracking speed, but on those pads, specially the S&S and the Scarab, the Spawn and even the AM overtake the Abyssus and Savu for good measure.

I could take some screenshots of enotus, but it's very time-consuming.

don't worry bout it. enotus readouts don't mean much to me anyway. tongue.gif

I use 800dpi and a 15cm/360 sensitivity.

1.
LOD is high
Mine has poor build construction. The main buttons wobble. The wheel has a small amount of play when resting on it.

2.
Works fine on all my pads but that's probably due to the high LOD.

3.
I find it a nice shape for fingertip use.

What you mean by that? There should be zero idle movement and nothing wobbling.

Placing force anywhere other than dead centre creates a rocking motion over the pivot point of the switch. Mine may be a one off that failed QC, who knows. It's very annoying tho. Like the Logitech wobble, it can be fixed by opening mouse and bending shell slightly. Unfortunately there are no feet available so I can't do this yet.
