Right guys, hello again! biggrin.gif I was playing Skyrim today and stumbled upon this (yes, I'm addicted to this game redface.gif)

The time I reported on the screen flashing, it kind of looked similar to this (although as I mentioned before, it was never reproducible) although this time I was able to do so. The objects were flickering however only once or twice when I was looking up or down did the white flash cover nearly the whole screen (my crappy phone camera did not pick it up)

Driver issue? nvidia may have a hotfix (i wouldnt know honestly)

But apparently this kind of lighting issue is fixed in the latest amd beta driver.

how hot is your gpu getting, is it overclocked?

EVGA 560 superclock and Saphire amd 6750 have outlasted a lot of higher end models on both amd and nvidia for me so far. hell, i still have them. I tend to have less reliable cards with nvidia though, they just seem to crap out sooner. But the most impressive card i've seen was a 40$ at the time 9600GSO nvidia card. That thing.....i wish nvidia still made cards that well... My brother has it now frown.gif

I'm on the latest nvidia drivers (the beta ones) however the issue still was similar on the stable release (clean installs done between both)

My card gets to around 81C when running the furmark test. It goes to about 71C while gaming, it should be well within the cards operating temperatures (its reported to be like 96C on the cards site)

could it well just be a driver/game issue I wonder? the card comes back fine in furmark and although it does kind of produce a tearing effect in the haven bench (which I also got with my other card) when the fps is below 60, its running fine

I must say that the image quality seems to be a bit better on this nvidia card. I can see the jaggies, but they defiantly seem to be less apparent smile.gif

Yeah, its a really strange problem alright :S. The only mod I have that affects the lightly slightly is the vibrant aurora mod, which would not produce the issues I am experiencing (I started a new game on my 7850 as well with all mods disabled)

You know, the problem seemed to alleviate slightly with downgrading to drivers (I think 1.6 on my AMD card defiantly reduced the frequency of the flashes occurring, etc) I will try a few other games but I am extremely strapped with time. What game would really cause problems with a card if it was broken?

Why not just use OCCT's GPU test to test the card. Enable error check and that will mean any artifacts or GPU problems will be flagged up as errors.
If you get 0 errors in 5minutes id say your problem is not the GPU.

Tearing is normal when VSync is disabled. Your mouse lag may of been due to VSync being enabled on previous cards.

Thanks for the suggestion of OCCT stress tester. It looks like a pretty nifty app I must say. I know the story about screen tearing and the like. The screen tearing i am getting with haven is when the FPS is at 24 and vsync enabled. Mouse lag on my old card happened regardless of what I was doing.

Edit: Just did a test on the program now.

Edit again, I just checked the actual window where the benchmark was running, it appears just as a blank screen so that probobly explains why I got so many errors lol. I ran it again and while I did see the screen, there was no movement/no GPU usage in GPU-Z. The EVGA stress test program I used was working fine though.

Edit: #3, after restarting program, I got it to work but only running under DX9. Kind of a buggy application!

You are still having issues? And still blaming the GPU? How many have you gone through now? Seriously. I am not trying to piss you off or anything. But last I knew you had gone through at least 7 cards. Different Models and brands. Only to have similar issues with each card. (More or less). Have you managed to figure out exactly what the issue is yet? And can we get more detailed info on a few things in your sig rig? Simply labeling your RAM as "Geil" give absolutely no info that we can work with. Model and speed would be great.

If you still think that its a GPU issue and you have been through more than 7 of them, its not. Its something else that is causing your issue. As to what exactly that is I have no idea.

Try OCCT 3.1.0 Version, this is rock solid, i use it to stabilize all my GPU OCs.. The new one seems buggy as hell, i found that out today =S
