Nvidia 306.23 Drivers fps drops ?

Hello,

I recently updated my drivers to 306.23. I was playing Black Mesa and have noticed that in random moments (not very often) I get huge fps drop and GPU is working on 99% usage when it happens. Tought that its something wrong with the game itself but I've noticed similar situation in other games as well. Did U guys have the same problem ? Ahh my GPU is 670 DCU II TOP.

I am not sure if this is related to some driver/physics driver issue.

this is a thread i've posted about when i have updated to the 306.23 drivers and i have experienced performance drop in BF3

On my PC, Black Mesa runs at constant 60fps in 3D at 1080p with one GTX 580 and nvidia driver 306.23

gpu usage usually less than 80%. All graphics settings at maximum except shadow detail = low. Motion blur is disabled.

I've read your thread but in my case I got normal scores in 3DM11. Have downgraded drivers to previous version but it happened again. Playing Fallout 3 for few minutes and fps dropped - basically my gpu clock goes down, but card itself is working on 99%. When I minimize game (alt+tab) and click on it again - everithing backs to normal. :/

Just wanna share my experience.

I got stable on 301.42 WHQL, 306.23 WHQL, and 306.97 WHQL

when I overclock my graphics card @1241 Mhz I got 80-110 FPS (depends on the moment) @BF3 and when in stock, I got 60-70 fps constant (sometimes get dips 50 fps)....and I got stable 1289 Mhz with my MSI GTX 670 Power Edition OC with 306.23 WHQL @3d mark 11 extreme

Very Impressive driver from Nvidia (for me at least)....

for your problem, did you ever roll back the driver? (maybe install 304.48 beta, or 304.79 or 305)???

have you ever checked, and make sure that your ram, psu, ssd, etc are fine? is your motherboard bios are up to date?
