Which PSU?

Thread Starter
Simple question, this: http://www.ebuyer.com/352621-coolermaster-gx-lite-600w-86-single-12v-rail-230v-rs600-asabl3-uk
vs this: http://www.ebuyer.com/264509-ocz-zs-series-550w-80-bronze-psu-with-135mm-fan-single-ocz-zs550w-uk
I'm guessing there is a reason the 600w Coolermaster is cheaper, even though it claims to have more watts and amps?
I was hoping to crossfire HD 6870s, and heard I can just about manage it on a decent 600w so was hoping to get the Coolermaster, but I've heard their "budget" power supplies are rubbish. Can anyone comment on this? Thanks!

I would go with the cooler master. You get 50 more watts and I have had nothing but good luck with their psu's. In the end though it is not that big of a difference. The OCZ might have a better warranty.

Corsair? I see a coolermaster and an OCZ psu here. Did I miss something?

Over the 2 you listed, I would probably go with the OCZ. I have not had luck with low end cooler master product.

I wouldn't go with the Cooler Master since the GX line isn't known for being the most efficient or being able to deliver their rated wattage.

I'd probably shoot for this - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-103-NX

Spend a little more but don't cheap out where it counts.

You get what you pay for. smile.gif

^That's a good suggestion.... the 550W version would be plenty as well, it also comes with the required PCIe connectors for a 6870 CFX setup.

I'm pretty sure 550w wouldn't be enough for a crossfire 6870 setup.
And sorry about the errors in the OP guys, I meant Coolermaster lol.
So the overall opinion is I should just go for the OCZ unit, or spend more for a decent 600w+?
