It will run at 1 GHz instead of 900 MHz making it the fastest 7950 out of the box.
Just watch out for your VRM temperatures.
While playing Sleeping Dogs my VRM temps skyrocketed to 85 C with FZ1 instead of 70 C using F43.
But that with the OC biggrin.gif. I like the high stock clocks of this BIOS so I am leaving it at that. I will revert my 1100/1500 OC to stock 1000/1250.
The difference is about 5-10% between those clocks, and that doesn't worth it for me thumb.gif .

Power slider is misunderstood a lot.
It is NOT voltage, but "power" limit.
I put it in quotes because AMD estimates load and voltage increases don't change how much it throttles.

Nvidia's power limit actually limits on real power (volts x amps), that is why when they increase voltage too much, sometimes it throttles the card so much that the overclock is fruitless.

Anyway, tried FZ1 and it works...powertune limits are higher(watching occt load in gpuz-current in) but VRMs run way hotter for the minimal increase I can get @1.25 vs using MSI AB @1.225 on f42,f21,f2 bioses.

The only boost bios I liked is the sapphire latest. 1.18v is a good voltage. These 1.25v boost bioses are garbage imho.

i noticed with fz1 my voltage goes to up to around 1.19 under load and wont go any higher no matter what i set the volts at in afterburner , with f43 if i set the volts at 1.3 it goes to around 1.23 under load. in other words afterburner has no effect on my voltage with fz1.

All of the boost bioses, that start off with a higher than normal voltage tend to not let you change the voltage.
That's why I call them garbage, lol.
In other threads people think that they have locked cards, but its the boost bios that does this. By flashing a non-boost bios, you get back voltage control.

In the bios itself, the normal voltage value is "01 FF", I am able to change the clock values/CCC limits, but not voltage. This "01 FF" seems to be hard coded to the chip, probably related to ASIC rating. The boost bioses use another value for boost state "02 FF" which seems to bypass the ASIC rating, and also make OC apps not be able to change voltage.

I also find some of them, like the F3 version, to throttle down much more than a regular f2,f21,f42. The FZ1 (boost bios) throttle is comparable to the regular bioses.

I thought the F43 bios were the best when it comes to stability but these FZ1 beat it easily!

with 13.2 betas I got my stable OC to be 1250mhz from 1200mhz thumb.gif

This is nice but how much voltage are you using to achieve this score?

Very nice indeed. What is your asic quality if i may ask? With 1.2v i can reach 1100MHz max. But i'm with F43 bios.
And do you think that this FZ1 is stable enough? I'm wondering whether to try it.

Edit:
LOL. I just saw you have 3 GB 7950. smile.gif
So what kind of asics you have there? smile.gif

Isnt the fz1 using only 1.25v as boost bios? If you see 1.2v in gpuz, really that is after vdroop.
