New Bios update for gigabyte HD7950 ! - Page 39

My card has quite a bit of vdroop it seems. This is the setup Ive been running for a while. 1100/1575 and 1.1v in AB, but GPU reads it as 1.06v. My VRM temps are the about the same as the core, ~57-60C with the fans relatively quiet. I can get my card to 1080 on the stock voltage. Afterburner says my stock voltage is 1.086 but GPUZ reads 1.049.

I enabled unofficial overclocking mode and was going to tweak it a little higher but I started getting weird screen flickers. The screen would just blink or a line would flash through it then immediately disappear. It did this the second that I enabled unofficial mode, even after a reboot, I didnt even tweak the clocks any higher. I uninstalled AB completely then reinstalled and the flickers went away.

I did the -xcl trick to afterburner and am now able to go past 1100mhz. At 1.25v in Afterburner, GPUZ reads 1.18v, when I kill kombustor the voltage jumps up to 1.25, then down to the idle voltage. The droop gets worse the higher the voltage is.

MSI AB_______GPUz
1.086v-(Stock)-1.049
1.100v ______1.060
1.250v_______1.180

I was able to OC my card to 1100 on the core and 1575 on the memory... voltage is at 1.15, but GPU Z reports it as 1.600-1.092. Temps are very good at only around 58C after hours of gaming. Is there anything else I can do to push my card besides doing the "unoficcial overclock"?

Should I try lowering the voltage to see if I can run these settings at a lower voltage? Or is there really no point since I'm only running at 1.15?

You can try to lower the voltage. there is a point - to find the lowest voltage you need for such a clock.

Hi guys!

I recently bought a Gigabyte GV-R795WF3-3GD it came with FZ1 bios. Should i flash to F43? When i play heavy games like BF3 or Far Cry 3 the temperature reach 90c-100c biggrin.gif I think this is too high. That's why i think should go back to F43. Can you guys give me some advice please?

Thanks.

How much core voltage difference between Afterburner/Trixx/whatever overclocking tool youre using and GPUz do you guys see? Ive skimmed back through this thread looking for pics, but no one posted pics of Afterburner and GPUz on the screen at full load.

I set 1.25v and Im only seeing 1.18 in GPUz. Is anyone else having this same issue?

Look 2 posts above yours.. Obviously u didn't look too hard because I have posted screens of GPU-z and afterburner at full load...

Wow bud, that was quite rude. That is one picture in three separate posts. If you consider one sample a satisfactory amount of data, Ive got some news for you. If youve got something useful to say, say it. If not, keep the useless comments to the minimum. If you are trolling, you may be better off on some other forums.

It wasn't meant to be rude. Maybe you just took it that way because you felt foolish? You asked why no one had posted screens of GPU and AB under full load. I had posted just that only 3 posts prior to your comment. I was simply pointing out that if you had looked a bit harder you would have found what you were looking for. No, maybe one example isn't enough for you, but that wasn't the point. The point was I was pointing out the fact that what you had asked for was blatantly obvious only 3 posts before yours. Please take the time to read first next time instead of posting first.
